Has anybody stayed in these and any helpful info. appreciated.

Which ship? We've been on the Dream on deck 11 twice. We are boarding the breeze on Sunday. I would say, if you're thinking about the dream, choose your room carefully, the first time we were inside away from the gym it was great- last year we were inside under the gym and it was awful. As far as the spa goes, it is great!

We stayed in 12002 on the Sunshine. Quick access to the Spa but we rarely saw an elevator on 12. Had to leave the room 20 minutes earlier for dinner to wait for an elevator. Not a problem after we got our schedule down pat. Very quite floor. I hope to book another Spa room one day.

Do you know if there is a door leading to the gym from the Spa cabin port side cabins? That would be so easy. It appears to be but unsure. Thanks for any info on this. Would like to book a spa cabin here if so.

Thanks Again!!

Which ship?

We were on Splendor and didn't really like it.

No overhang so direct sun always and people above could see down.

This is not the case for other ships with Cloud 9 Spas.

My husband and I did on our recent cruise on the Dream. What kind of info do you want? We loved the location and the spa access and we would definitely book a similar room again.:D

For now we have decided to keep our aft. balcony cabin, we only wanted the Spa cabin cause it sleeps 4 and daughter & granddaughter wanted to come along and would love the Spa... now they can't make it

We are older and probably would not utilize it much, but thanks a bunch for the info. Happy Cruising!

We were on Spa deck on Conquest ( deck 11) . We never used the spa but the location was great and we didn't have any problems with motion. Loved the cabin for the sliding glass door to the balcony, but was not crazy about not having a roof over the balcony.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking- but there is a "private" set of stairs and elevator at the front of the ship that allows access to the spa and gym. It's not private in the sense that it requires a key like the actual spa doors, it's just not as easily assessable for other guests and unless they happen upon it, might not realize it is there. Perhaps those using serenity would use it to get to the gym, otherwise, it's pretty quiet. It runs from deck 11-14. (I think...)

I guess it's important to note- the 5 ships with cloud 9 spas are a bit different than those without. Booking a spa stateroom requires an up charge that allows access to the facilities in the spa that others cannot access with out buying a daily or weekly pass. If you think you'll use those on cloud 9 ships- it's almost always best to just book the rooms if they're available because you'll find the upcharge is the same or less than the pass and it puts you in close proximity to the spa.

I'm interested in this too. We have a spa cabin booked on Glory and I haven't been able to get any info on it. Are the doors that lead to the balcony sliding glass instead of the slamming ones! That would be awesome :) I was wondering about the motion and whether it took longer for room service too? I don't really care about people looking over us unless smoke can reach our cabin from up above. Oh well, WE'LL BE ON A CRUISE so I'm pretty sure I'll be happy no matter what :D

Can't answer the balcony part of your question. But as for the motion- my experience has been the larger the ship, the less movement I feel overall. We've stayed riviera to panorama and many decks in between... Being higher in the ship on bigger vessels hasn't mattered much to me. I guess I should say- we don't get seasick. We rather like the motion- we just don't feel it on the big ships as much.

You still haven't said what ship you are on. On the ships that have the Cloud 9 Spa, the spa cabins only give the spa benefits to the first two people in the cabin, so your daughter and grand would have had to pay as if they were in any other cabin.

If you are NOT on Dream class, Splendor or Sunshine, there are cabins on the Spa deck, but they are not Spa balcony cabins with spa bennies. Just regular balconies on Spa deck. EM

We had a Spa Deck cabin on Glory - 1112. These cabins do have the sliding doors. Ours took some work to secure, though - if there was a lot of movement our sliding door - well - slid. And as for movement this was probably the worst we've experienced. However, understand that this was 2010 and we sailed with Hurricane Earl. And since we sailed with Earl, our balcony couldn't be used a lot since there is no overhang. I found the drainage wasn't great, so even when it wasn't raining the balcony was very wet. Overall, not my favorite cabin - but as you said, you're on a cruise!

Lets see we've done a spa balcony deck 11 twice on Breeze...LOVED it! Just came off the Sunshine our cabin 11026...best best best location! literally a walk away from Serenity deck! Elevators, yes close by but we usually take the stairs..I would not hesitate to book this cabin again!

You do not need a pass to get into the gym.

UPDATE:

We stayed in 1102 on the Glory and these are my observations

Pros

-Extremely quiet location :)

-Convenient to Lido. Just walk down the hall and out the door and you are right by the slide!

-Right across the hall from a "secret" door to get to the mens locker room. That was awesome for the guys to take showers.

-Never once saw anyone look down at our cabin from the deck above. My son even went up there to try to look down and we never saw him.

-We are balcony users and used it EVERY morning and EVERY evening.

-No slamming balcony doors on our floor because there are sliding doors on that floor!!!! YAY

-Did not feel the ship moving much at all. Just barely on one day. I've felt more movement when we were in the middle than this one. I just think it depends on the itinerary and weather. I have always found the eastern to be a little rougher than the western, but nothing too bad.

-We never had trouble with our sliding door staying closed or sliding back and forth, so that was good.

Cons

-deck became pretty hot during the day since there was no overhang.

-drainage wasn't great so if it rained or they washed the balcony's, standing water was there for a bit. Actually, this became a pro when it was hot during the day and we wanted to go out there. It cooled our feet haha.

I sure hope this info helps someone! To let you know our thinking...we LOVE staying on lido where it's close to everything. The other con was not having coffee right down the hall like we did on lido, but hey, that's what room service is for :)

well here we go again. plans changed and we are in 8P on Splendor out of NY to NE Sept. 20th, got a great Premier offer we couldn't resist. Never did a Spa before (we are older would probably not use it) but always a balcony, any info is much appreciated.

The door leading to the gym from the port side cabins is on Deck 12 on the Magic. DH used it all the time since it was just a few steps away from our cabin.

We had Deck 12 cabins twice on the Magic and loved it. We had a Deck 11 Spa cabin on the Breeze, but it was noisy. It was way too close to where the regular cabins start near the elevators and lots of slamming doors, kids running loose and talking in the halls. We would only consider a Deck 12 spa cabin in the future.

It seems people are still talking about two different things.

There are ships with Cloud 9 spas - those have spa cabins. All ships have a spa, but they aren't all Cloud 9 spas.

Ships with a spa deck that do NOT have the enhanced Cloud 9 spa are not spa cabins!

Freedom does not have spa cabins. It has cabins on the spa deck. NOT the same thing!

Ships with spa cabins: Splendor, Sunshine, Magic, Dream, Breeze, Vista. That's it. If you have a cabin on spa deck on other ships, it's not a spa cabin.

Yes, it can be confusing. :p

I just recently cancelled my res on Splendor to Bermuda and am moving in with someone in an 8S Spa balcony cabin.

On Splendor, the "spa" balcony cabins are 8P on Panorama and 8S on Spa decks.

So, clear as mud, right?

http://www.carnival.com/onboard/cloud-9-spa

Carnival does provide some info about the Cloud 9 spas. I toured Splendor's spa when I was on her last November, but we only had 2 sea days on our 8-night sailing. I thought about buying a day pass, but had other things I wanted to do on those sea days. With 3 sea days on the upcoming Bermuda cruise, there will be more time to take advantage of the spa. And since it's now included in my cabin fare, I'll make use of it.

And that will keep me out of the casino. ;)

Thanks for the update. I'm a 1st time cruiser & am staying on deck 11 on the Freedom. Like you, there just isn't much info on these cabins.

Hfj,

Have you taken your trip yet? Any information you can provide. We have a reservation for March 2016 on the freedom cabin 1120.

Steve
