Nicci1 Posted May 1, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2015 First time cruiser, wondering when we receive ticket and disembarkation details for pre-booked online HAL excursion beginning in Skagway at 8.30 a.m.
1ANGELCAT Posted May 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2015 There should be a bright pink envelope in your cabin upon boarding from the Shore Excursions office. It will have your actual tickets and all info as to where to meet and time of departure. Enjoy your cruise to Alaska and welcome to HAL
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 1, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2015 What excursion will you be doing in Skagway? Many will meet on shore. Here is a link as to where you will be docked: http://claalaska.com/?page_id=
Nicci1 Posted May 2, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted May 2, 2015 Thanks, 1Angelcat, for letting me know. KK, that’s a great link, thank you. We’re doing the White Pass Rail & Yukon tour.
1ANGELCAT Posted May 2, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2015 You are welcome. The train ride is a great excursion. Take lots of pictures. I recommend sitting on the left hand side of the train on the ride up to the summit. The boundary marker / flag poles are on that side.
bjarrett7 Posted May 2, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 2, 2015 Great question! I have a similar one: we booked the Taku lodge& flight through HAL which leaves at 1, but the ship isn't scheduled to arrive until 1. Can I assume that they are coordinating all of this? Or should I change to the later departure?

Taku was a great excursion. The salmon bake was outstanding, just watch out for the Bears! Make sure to take bug spray because the mosquitos were really bad last year when I did the trip in mid- June.

Good advice, but more importantly, the best scenery is also on that side.
