On-Board Pools on Alaska Cruises

Can someone tell me if the on-board swimming pools on the Zaandam are heated or not? Is it typically too cold to swim during an Alaska cruise - water temperature or air temperature too cold? Trying to decide whether to take swim items for those sea days in early June. Thanks.

Bring the swim gear. The Lido pool is covered, so should be quite comfortable (if not too hot in there). There's always the hot tubs next to it, too. It's a real kick to be in either the pool or a hot tub when looking at the glaciers.

Usually the Sea View pool water is warmer than the surrounding air, but some people do swim outside.

Even better kick - buy a Thermal Spa pass and sit in the small Hydro pool watching the glaciers while everyone else is below you on deck, all bundled up. You will have the best view and be alot warmer! We did this on our last cruise and thought it was quite funny.
