riddle Posted May 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2015 Although we have almost 20 cruises to date we have never cruised from the West Coast. Our son and his family have moved to SF and we are considering adding a Mexican Riviera cruise on the Jewel to this trip. This would be either a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving or a week after. I know nothing about the Mexican Riviera cruises but have been on the Jewel. Any info anyone can give would be appreciated. Will temperatures be high enough for water sports, etc.
CruiserBruce Posted May 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2015 Some reading on the Mexican Rivera board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=203 would be beneficial.
mapleleaves Posted May 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2015 I'm looking at a similar itinerary and used http://www.wunderground.com to find historical weather data for each port. I chose a date during that travel week then looked at the past 5 yrs ..... only takes a minute.
Cruisin' Chick Posted May 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2015 By that time of year, it should be cooler. I'm guessing you plan to leave SF, which should add a couple more days of cool weather. By the time you get near Cabo, it'll be warm. It could also be rainy (don't be surprised if the Californians are ecstatic if it does rain as we have drought conditions here). Chloe1500 Posted May 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2015 Of course, no one can predict the weather especially very far in advance, but we cruised RT in early November 2014 to Cabo, Loreto, La Paz and Puerto Vallarta from San Francisco. The weather was fantastic everywhere, even in SF. The water was very warm for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. We loved the cruise especially the ports of Loreto and La Paz, and we would go that time of year again.
SadieN Posted May 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2015 Going northbound can be bumpy as you'll be going against the Alaskan Current.
