Oasis formal nights

I will be taking two 16-year-old young ladies (my granddaughter and a friend) on the Oasis very soon and they are concerned about appropriate dress attire for their age. They would like to dress up but are afraid they might be the only ones and would be embarrassed to be over-dressed. Anyone with fairly recent experience or observations regarding this, your comments would really be appreciated.

There is NO WAY to "overdress" on formal nights. Think "prom wear" for kids...that's more than sufficient. Or, party clothes....doesn't have to be a tux/gown thing.

They will not be out of place. Many women will be dressed formally.

Our Dec. 2013 cruise, I had my then 24 yr old daughter and her girlfriend (23). Both of them bought what I would call party dresses. They were short dresses and the two formal nights they wore the ones that either had sparkle or were fancier material or design. They had 2-3 that were fancy sun dresses. All were short dresses and they looked awesome.
