Sayra Posted June 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2015 Has anyone stayed in one of the aft balconies on the Royal/Regal? I know that the balconies on the Aloha deck are smaller than some of the other decks, but Aloha is all that is left for the cruise we are looking at for November. Curious on the size. Thanks! SenorBruce Posted June 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2015 Been on Royal twice, both times stayed in Aloha 215. Balcony is tight, just enough room for table and chairs. Traveled once with 2 people, the other time with 3. Could not get 3 on the balcony (only provide 2 deck chairs) using a cabin chair. We enjoy breakfast and afternoon cocktail in the deck so it is important to us to be able to use it. Not a major problem but 9" longer and 12" deeper would be more comfy. Would suggest you google Royal Aft Pictures. All the balconies on Regal/Royal are (JMO) too small with the exception of the Owners Suites. The aft balconies are larger than the ones on the sides but still small. You might also want to use the search function on cruise critic to research Soot. Some have reported extensive problems and others have said the problem was small. We didn't have an issue on our cruise but we were on a lower deck with much more cover. BTW, you only mentioned size but cover can be a significant issue. Do you want a lot of shade or mostly sun? How about Privacy? Baha/Dolphin have the most cover. Look at the pictures. BTW. What do you consider Aft? Some consider Aft to be anything towards the rear of the ship. Others only consider rear facing cabins to be Aft. We were on the Regal a few months ago and stayed on a aft balcony on aloha. The balcony we were in was wider then the others but not as deep as Baja but it was wider. The 2 balconies in the middle on aloha are wider then the 2 that are either side of them. Edited June 14, 2015 by slwmjd

OP was asking about aft facing balconies, are the aft facing balconies the same as the side of ship balcony you describe?
