What time does luggage (usually) arrive to the room?

Hey all, cruising Splendor from NYC tomorrow. Sail time is 4pm but we have a reservation at the steak house at 6:30 on the first night. What time does luggage usually arrive to the room? Will this give us enough time to shower/change into formal attire? Tried doing a search but couldn't find anything specific. Thanks!

I have gotten mine as late as 6pm. But normally by sailing you should have it.

I have always had mine before sailing. but I also drop mine off early in the embarkation window. If the window is 12-2 then drop off at 12 then your ok, drop off at 1:45 maybe not.

The best answer would be "maybe". I've been on 11 Carnival cruises and sometimes the luggage arrived well after 6:00pm. For that reason the dress codes aren't enforced for the first night. Good Luck!

They are pretty understanding in the steak house on the first night about dress code.

We didn't get ours til after 6 on my cruise last week & we were there at 10:00 that morning and one of the first groups to board.

They are casual on the first night, but no shorts are allowed, at least they weren't while I was on Liberty.

We usually carry ours on, but the few times we haven't, it's come well before dinner and another time not until well after dinner. Not sure if there's any way to predict.

Just tell them your luggage hadn't arrived yet. As a previous poster said, dress code is pretty relaxed the first day. You aren't supposed to wear shorts to the steakhouse, but I doubt they would turn you away if your luggage hadn't arrived yet.

 

Assuming Carnival is anything like a normal business, the steakhouse manager is going to get a call when you go to guest services to remove the charge for a no show on the first day because you were refused as your luggage hadn't arrived. No one wants that call.

Last time I sailed Carnival my luggage arrived at 9 Pm.

A few cruises ago, my luggage never showed up. By around 9 I went to Guest Services (Purser's Desk), and there was luggage all lined up, including my suitcase.

 

I had taped (with clear heavy tape) and stapled my luggage tags to both handles on the suitcase, as well as the pull out handle. I'd also put tape on the sides and bottom with my name and room number on tape. I also had the regular leather luggage tags attached.

 

When I picked up my suitcase, all that was gone! Completely gone. Somebody had to do that. My conclusion was that some porter wanted to teach me a lesson for overkill.

YES. I have always been to the port by 10:00 am and when you get your luggage there has NO bearing as to when you will receive it. If you are not a priority bag it will come when they decide to load that crate and then unload on to the floors..

 

Your first GAMBLE and you aren't even in the casino yet. :D
