suekay Posted June 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2015 Can any recent cruisers tell me which side of the ship faces the dock in the different ports? My 86 year old Mum likes to watch the activity on the dockside when in port. Thanks for any help
Pam bam Posted June 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2015 I could be wrong but I taught it docked on the port side all the time with is on the non smoking side on deck I think that's the left hand side, I could be wrong, I m just off it last week

I would assume this will be the same in Europe.
MADflyer Posted June 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2015 There is some degree of variability here. Recent sailings have had Allure with Starboard at Barcelona, Marseille and Civitavecchia and that is always most likely in those ports. Palma is also most likely Starboard though they could pull in either way at this port as they are now at the single ship pier. Naples would also likely be Starboard, while they could easily be assigned to the other side of the same pier and it would be portside. La Spezia I seem to recall as being portside though. suekay Posted June 13, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted June 13, 2015 Thank you all. I'll change cabins to be on the starboard side. Nothing to lose by doing that
cb at sea Posted June 13, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 13, 2015 Port simply means "left"...it has nothing to do with facing the dock.
