cruiser02 Posted September 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2005 Does Princess have a shuttle into the city from the Boston pier? Any suggestions of what to do on the New England/Canada cruise? Thank you
mii Posted September 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2005 I do not think that Princess has a shuttle but am not sure. Go into the Ports of Call board and look under New England and Canada. There are some ideas on what to do. We are doing New England/Canada next year and I am also doing some searching. What I have also done is go to the Roll Call board for this year around your date and on different cruise lines. Sometimes you do get ideas from other posters. Hope this helps. marilyn
Rare Coral Posted September 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2005 I read somewhere that there is a shuttle but there is a small fee for it.
Pam in CA Posted September 16, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2005 Some friends of mine were on the Radisson last week and I picked them up in Boston. While doing my research about where to pick them up, I happened upon the Massport website: http://www.massport.com/ports/cruis_parki.html Here's the information: Black Falcon Transportation Cruiseport Boston, operating at the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal in the South Boston Waterfront District, is one of the most popular cruise ports in North America for a very good reason – its proximity to the City of Boston. To help passengers make the most of their Port of Call, a first class, round-trip shuttle is now in operation to get you where you're going safely, efficiently, and comfortably. Operated by Brush Hill / Gray Line / Beantown Trolley, the shuttle offers transportation on Port of Call days to some of Boston’s best destinations, such as: the New England Aquarium, located on Central Wharf on Boston’s vibrant Waterfront; Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the seat of American history and the site of one of America's most famous shopping and dining experiences and Copley Square, home to Trinity Church, the elegant and upscale Copley Place Mall; and adjacent to trendy Newbury Street. Shuttles depart every 15 minutes from the Cruise Terminal on Port of Call days, approximately from the time passengers are first allowed to leave their vessel, until the time advertised by the vessel as the last opportunity to re-board. FARE SCHEDULE FOR TROLLEY SHUTTLE: April through August: $8.00 one way $12.00 round trip September & October: $10.00 one way $15.00 round trip ** Tickets and information is available within the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal. Brush Hill / Gray Line / Beantown Trolley personnel will be on site to assist all passengers and will provide escort to Trolleys and Coaches. Public Transportation Public transportation is available except for Sunday via the #7 MBTA bus from South Station to the entrance of the Boston Marine Industrial Park at 660 Summer Street, entailing a walk of approximately 4-5 blocks. There is a #6 MBTA bus which operates weekdays only from South Station to the Boston Design Center, which is adjacent to the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal. For more information on fares and schedules, call 1 (800) 392-6100 or check the MBTA website http://www.mbta.com. Taxis also serve the Black Falcon Terminal during ship calls. Nitemare Posted September 16, 2005 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2005 There's also the MBTA's Silver Line, that comes within about 100 yards (or closer) to the terminal and takes you to South Station. That costs no more than $1.50 (probably less), and should run every 15 minutes or more often. Do check the Ports of Call board, and check http://www.mbta.com for more specific route info. mii Posted September 16, 2005 #6 Share Posted September 16, 2005 Pam thanks so much for the info. That will come in handy. Also Nitemare thank you for your information. These boards can be so helpful even if we are not new cruisers. I have been cruising a few years and still learn something new every day. Again thanks.
