Blondie0428 Posted June 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2015 I am traveling on the breeze in a couple weeks and plan on getting the cheers program for the first time. I'm wondering if there are certain bars I have to order at when using cheers? Can it be used at the casino? Also, can you use it in the dining room? You can use the cheers program at any bar including the dining room. You just can't use it to get drinks from room service or the mini bar in your cabin. So just to clarify, we can drink the soda in our room cooler (refrig.), but will be charged for the water and order a cocktail from room service IF we have the Cheers package? Glad to know ahead of time. Thanks! Tammy

Glad to know ahead of time. Thanks! Tammy No - if you drink anything from the fridge or the water they charge for (not what you get for past guest) or order a drink to be delivered to to your room you will be charged. CHERRS is self serve. You must go to a bar and the the drink or soda yourself to have it covered by the CHEERS.

Rare Jamman54 Posted June 20, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2015 (edited) You cannot get a drink from drink staff sitting by the pool and be covered by cheers? Yes you can! Also while sitting at a table in a lounge, or on the Promenade, etc. Just can't use Cheers for room service, cabin mini bar, or at HMC or LSC. jackie101 Posted June 21, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Still confused:confused: So if you buy Cheers there is a 15 drink maximum per day. Can you still buy more drinks with cash? If you do not buy Cheers is the amount of drinks per day that you can purchase unlimited? Can you pay with cash for drinks or just credit card? Thanks! Just FYI, you will not be using cash or credit card anywhere onboard. You put cash or a card down for your account and then everything is paid for with you Sail and Sign card which also serves as your room key. You will want some small bills to tip for room service though.
bm6pm5 Posted June 21, 2015 #13 Share Posted June 21, 2015 If you think you will go over your 15 drink per day limit you can always buy a couple when you are on #14 then get your last one on the cheers package.
vacruisin Posted June 21, 2015 #14 Share Posted June 21, 2015 You can also use cash in the casino table games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
kids1stcruise Posted June 21, 2015 #15 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Just so you know.....there's NO money or credit card charges when your on the ship. Every charge goes on your sign and sail card. You either give your credit card info or you can put cash on your card(I've never done this) throughout your cruise you carry your room key with you. This not only lets you into the cabin it allows you to buy things . You also have your photo on this that you swipe on/off at ports
klass2 Posted June 21, 2015 #16 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Here is another cheers program question. If you get a drink with a floater on top, they count that as 2 drinks right? Will they even allow that with the cheers program?

sweetsixteencruisers Posted June 21, 2015 #19 Share Posted June 21, 2015 (edited) You can do a floater but would count as a drink just wait 5 minutes and order the shot. Edited June 21, 2015 by sweetsixteencruisers
maryred Posted June 21, 2015 #20 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Here is another cheers program question. If you get a drink with a floater on top, they count that as 2 drinks right? Will they even allow that with the cheers program? Here's where it can get confusing. You are allowed to order a drink with floater but depending on the bartender it may not be considered as cover under the Cheers! program. Technically a floater is a layered drink, like a Barbados Sunrise, currently Carnival does not have any of those listed on their menu so depending on what the recipe calls for the bartender may equate this to the most similar mixed drink currently on the menu. My example contains white rum, blue curacao liqueur, grenadine, orange juice and ice so this would equate with many of the classic cocktails on the menu which run $8.95. But I have the feeling that your talking more about a sidecar than a floater. By definition a sidecar is an additional shoot that is either placed on top of a cocktail to seep in or "dropped" into a beer. For Carnival this is considered 2 separate drinks or a double, and under Cheers! you must order them at least 15 minutes apart or as part of a "round for friends" where 1 drink is covered and the second one is charged full price for. vacruisin Posted June 22, 2015 #22 Share Posted June 22, 2015 You'll have to keep track; it does not indicate where you are on your receipt. However, I don't know if the bartender can tell before you reach your cutoff limit for the day. Can someone chime in on that? jackie101 Posted June 22, 2015 #25 Share Posted June 22, 2015 Thanks everyone. We are going on our first Carnival cruise and do not like how the Cheers program works:mad:. Used to Royal, but the dates worked best for this cruise. I am sure it will be great though
