Thanksgiving Onboard

Recommended Posts

We have never sailed on Thanksgiving before and are looking at sailing on Anthem next year. Can anyone tell me if they do anything special for the holiday? Also, we are vegan so will they have the normal food (salad, etc) in the Windjammer still?

The WJ will have its usual selections of food and salads, fruit, etc. As for the MDR, on Holiday weeks they typically adjust the menu cycle to have turkey on Thanksgiving day. I do not know if Anthem will adhere to that since they have Dynamic Dining in place.

MDR offers turkey/dressing and all the trimmings, but if you're expecting the taste of home cooked Thanksgiving dinner, I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you like a Lubby's style dinner. We've done 2 Thanksgiving cruises. We loved them, But the second time, didn't order the dinner:( Had a fillet instead:D

The OP is vegan so it will not matter about the turkey. :)

I've had the turkey dinner on board. there are better things to eat :)

We've cruised over Canadian thanksgiving. Had our t-day dinner the week before we left.

I was pleasantly surprised when the Captain wished the Canadians on board a happy thanksgiving.

I agree, we cruised Thanksgiving several times, but now we normally do week after, way less children and much cheaper

We sailed on Mariner OTS a few years ago. A day before the holiday they decorated the ship. And they had special Thanksgiving menus for dinner. There were a few Thanksgiving-themed family activities.

Expect lots and lots of kids. We had 900 onboard.
