ChipVA Posted June 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2015 Curious what other cruisers experience has been with men passengers wearing neck ties on the informal nights? Cunard literature just states a jacket must be worn and many of the promotional photos show the men in open collared shirts with a sports jacket. Wasn't planning on bringing ties, but wanted to get a reality check about the informal nights. :)

You will be fine whichever you choose.

cruiseluvva Posted June 25, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2015 My husband choses to wear his tie occasionally on an informal evening, but more often than not does not wear one. It really is up to the individual.
Host Hattie Posted June 25, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2015 The informal code is tie optional so you will be fine without.
Capt_BJ Posted June 25, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 25, 2015 just off the QM2 westbound I'd say the informal tie percentage was no more than 50%
Bell Boy Posted June 25, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 25, 2015 You'll find that most of the " Old School Cunarder's " ( like me :D ) will occasionally wear a Tie. After all ,Standards must be maintained and our evenings a sense of occasion .;)
JuniorCruisers Posted June 26, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 26, 2015 I'll be wearing one every day. It's how I like to dress in such surroundings.
maria1963 Posted June 26, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 26, 2015 Just returned from the QV and whilst jackets and smart shirts and trousers were worn ties were less so.
