halong bay - Azamara

I'm going on my first cruise in December on Azamara Quest, Hong Kong to Singapore.

I have slight to moderate walking difficulties in that I can't walk more than about 50 metre without a rest.

I would like to go on the Halong bay excursion but the Land Cruises brochure classifies it as "strenuous" and that it is you need to walk 1/2 mile with lots of steps. I understand that the steps are to a cave which is optional, so how much walking is left?

If you take one of the junk boats there will be very little walking. You would not want to get off at the caves and you could just stay on the junk boat while others get off. You will see very beautiful scenery from the junk boat.

I agree with Keith, just sailing through the limestone kharsts is amazing. You're not really missing much not going into the caves. Below is the link to ours photos when we did similar cruise on Celebrity. Halong Bay ones are near the end.
