Walking to the Safeway in San Francisco from Pier 27

Howdy --

 

We're taking the Princess XFer from the airport to the pier and want to pickup some wine before boarding.

 

Seen mention of the Safeway and the Trader Joes ... Are they walkable??

I used Google Maps & from pier 27 to Trader Joe's at 401 Bay St it shows a 12 minute walk (6/10 mile) and Safeway at 350 Bay St takes 10 minutes (6/10 mile).

 

If you go to Google Maps & choose the walking option it will give you options for walking to TJ and Safeway.

About a half mile+ walk, level ground. Walk northwards from Pier 27 along the Embarcadero to Bay St. Up Bay St about 3 blocks. It's in the North Pointe Center. Walgreens is there too. TJ's is across the street on Mason St.

TJ's has good prices on lesser known wines & Safeway gives an additional 10% discount when purchasing 6 or more bottles of wine.
