Remember the old Celebration? She's back! Sort of.

Our first also. She only 6 months old when we sailed. Had an outside cabin. as I recall it was $1,199 per person.

Makes you shake your head when folks talk about high fares nowadays right? :D Then we all get huffy when they eliminate perks and we wonder why. We're paying less for cruises now than we did decades ago.

Hi Grady, Just like the Carnival's Voyage Videos that the Celebration had on sale during my cruise during 1994. You could pick out what activity the crew had taped, VHS of course ;), and the tape I have is of the Rum Swizzle Party, Singles Party in the disco, and Trunk Bay while docked in St Thomas was some of the things I selected to have on my VHS Tape. In 1995 I was on the Fascination Southern Itinerary from San Juan and think the Swizzle party was on that one too. I need to get that VHS tape transferred to DVD.

The Rum Swizzle Party drinks was not that good anyway but made for a fun time around the casino area. Not sure what year Carnival discontinued that function. I agree that those parties were not around in the early 2000's.

Thanks once again for your review and pictures of the former Celebration.

Cool, gotta love those VHS memories!

Thank you very much. My 1st cruise was on the Celebration

She was our first also. The prop shaft or a prop blade was bent and she had a bad shudder when traveling at top speed. We thought that it was normal until another passenger made the comment that they should change the name to Vibration.

...Thanks so much for taking the time to post all your great photos and commentary! Fantastic reading!

...We live about 30 minutes south of the Port of Palm Beach and were giving serious thought about taking a quick sailing on this ship. Would love to see the changes for myself since we last sailed the Celebration many moons ago.

I think you'll be in good company, it seems to be gaining a local following. I spoke to several locals who were enjoying having BC in their "backyard".

I did the two day cruise on the Grand Celebration last month. Really enjoyed the cruise. The entertainment on the ship was very good! I would definitely sail this ship again but next time I would also include a stay at one of the resorts in Freeport.

That might be a possibility for us as well. I heard good things from other guests who had done the land portion.
