What Carnival item do you think is overrated?

It seems everyone is gaga over the melting cake and Caesar salad and I don't like either. I also don't get the point of FTTF. We have sailed once with it and once without it and didn't really notice a huge difference.

Guys Burgers...can't stand the stinch of the grease on the Lido deck from them and to me they are just okay. Give me a homemade burger with a homemade bun any day over those.

 

I agree on CMC...not a fan here.

definitely the warm chocolate melting cake, for me; though I accept there are many who love it, but for me, it is too cloying sweet and gooey. Tried it, but would never do again.

 

Blue Iguana was also a bit of a disappointment, but maybe I just chose a wrong item from the menu. I will try it again some day, but it wont be my first thing on the list of food venues to try.

 

Guy's burgers, next. I enjoyed the two I had last November, but I would not choose a ship based on whether they have guy's or blue iguana. The regular burger from the grill is enough for me, and even then, I do not always get one per cruise.

Casino offers on cruises. People act like they are getting free cruises when they are really prepaying for them in the casino. At probably a much higher rate than if they would have just paid for the cruise in the first place.

Guy's burgers are definitely not my thing nor are the French Fries served with them. I don't like a hamburger that is crispy and that's how they seemed to me.

 

I think the Bitter N Blanc is totally overrated. I can take the warm chocolate melting cake, but it's not a fav.

The old shows that were replaced by Playlist. I do not care for either. What I do miss are magicians, comedic jugglers and, especially, a hypnotist they had a couple of times.

Agree totally on the burgers - maybe I was expecting too much, since all I heard before I tried them was how they're the best burgers and fries (which I really don't like) ever. I also think that the stir fry place is just okay.

I agree with you. Many many years agomit was very good , now i cant even stomach 2-3 bites. I always get it 1 time on my cruise just to see if it is better than the last time and it is always a disappointment.

Big 10-4 on the hypnotist. Saw him on the Liberty back in 2006 and hands down the funniest performance I've ever seen in my life.

 

Not a big fan of the alcoholic drinks either, or bucket of beer for that matter. What I mean is that they charge a price that, while probably competitive with land based bars, causes me to be more creative and employ mathematics while pouring my own drinks.:eek:

The burgers are good but not fabulous, I have better locally.

 

I think Waterworks is overated. Personally, I wish it were smaller and we still had 3 pools like the conquest class so one could be adult only.

 

I also think the lobster is overrated, it's Carribean lobster and not Maine lobster.

Have never been on a Carnival ship (yet), but will agree on the comedians on principle. Profanity as comedy lost it's appeal many years ago. I get enough profanity at work, and it's not funny....

Lobster-I will take a Florida Spiny Lobster over a Maine Lobster any day, Carnival, just hasn't mastered mass production on lobster.

Agree on the parties. On our Royal Caribbean cruise, we spent sail-away on our balcony, watching NOLA and the French Quarter drift by. Quiet and relaxing....

They have profanity-free family shows that are quite good.
