Can I still bring a coup,e cases of water with me when I board the Pearl on Sunday? Can I just tape a luggage tag to it and give it to the porter?

It depends on the stevedores -- but bringing water on is no problem.

Bringing water is not an issue, but in many ports you have to carry it on yourself. They do not allow you to put luggage tags on it, probably because the cases have a tendency to break open. I suggest getting a soft sided suitcase or a duffel bag and putting it in that and checking that item.
