Hello,

We are looking at the Island Princess Dec 2016 sailing. We want a mini suite towards the back of the ship. Are all of the balconies covered? Does anyone have recommendations as to location?

Thanks.

I am interested as well. We are on the Sept. 19th Sailing and we are in C718 and aft mini suite.

We had one on the Dolphin Deck towards the aft in Alaska and it was covered. Also, we could walk further aft down the hall and go out on a small deck that very few people knew about. I think we were in D706, but it has been quite a while since we sailed on her.

Just answered on your other thread:

We have been on the Island/Coral 3 times in aft mini-suites: once on Caribe deck and twice on the Dolphin deck. As I remember they were the same size on either deck. Those in the 700 series on the Dolphin deck are fully covered. We had them for Alaska and they were great because you could use them in the rain/drizzle. Those in the 700 series on the Caribe deck are partially covered. We had one for the Panama Canal transit and it was nice to have partial sun/shade (of course that depends on the heading of the ship at any given time).

And while this isn't pertinent to the Island post update, anyone trying to decide on Dolphin or Caribe deck on the Coral should also know that the Coral still has the public viewing areas across the back of both decks. The viewing area on the Caribe deck is deeper and had (last time we were on it) loungers on it while the viewing are on the Dolphin deck is standing room only.
