Big Chief Posted July 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) Norwegian Cruise Lines today announced a change in pricing for specialty restaurants. They are moving from a flat rate to an a la carte structure. With the way things are changing and a new CEO perhaps this could be in Celebrity's future? 6502programmer Posted July 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2015 Probably not.. Celebrity's big push of late has been towards all-inclusive pricing. Making the specialty restaurants a la carte is not only a step away from that, but risks gnawing at the fat margins of the specialty dining. blueboro Posted July 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2015 With the way X specialty pricing continues to rise it might be cheaper a-la-carte

To be honest I can see this becoming more extensive on X. I think I'm right in saying that the Gastro Pubs on those Celebrity ships that have them are a la carte. There are refurbishment on Azamara due early next year that include plans for an a la carte Asian restaurant. Personally I think the Specialty dining on Celebrity has become very expensive. I don't eat a huge amount of food and depending upon prices this could be a good thing for me. Phil
