swooldri Posted July 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) RCI just changed the itinerary to 2 nights in Nassau and no sea day and no Coco Cay. Due to maintenance of replacement parts. This sucks, they (more than likely) knew this in advance of final payment. I just canceled 3 bookings I had on hold. But I am still stuck with one booking after final payment. (I know the fine print with changes) RCI you should do better than this. This SUCKS. Edited July 15, 2015 by swooldri

2Shoes2Go Posted July 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2015 This doesn't help us want to do more ROYAL. At least we have a nice cabin to hide out in! We despise Nassau; love CoCo Cay. :(
Retired LEO Posted July 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 15, 2015 2 nights in Nassau of all places. I hate when they leave at midnight.
cruisingsince94 Posted July 15, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2015 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :( :( Guess I will have to call RCI and see what they are planning to offer due to this. We are pretty much locked into this sailing.

And in this case waiting till after final payment "worked for them". After all, it is all about the $.
cruiseapril Posted July 15, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 15, 2015 We were on the Enchantment last year- stayed over in Nassau due to winds at CoCo Cay. We went to the Melia on Cable Beach one day and to the Blue Lagoon the next and had a good time in Nassau. There are reviews on the Bahamas forum. cruisingsince94 Posted July 15, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 15, 2015 I spoke to both C&A and guest relations this morning regarding the loss of the sea day and cancelled stop at Coco Cay. As of now they say there is nothing in the works regarding OBC for the inconvenience but that it might change once onboard the ship and to inquire with guest services. I just wanted to post this for anyone who is booked on this cruise and reads the original post. The reason for the change is maintenance related and the work is being done in Nassau. If anyone else has had similar situations, I would very much appreciate it if you would comment on what the cruise line did for your cruise if anything. We sailed the Freedom when she had engine troubles and had a shorted day in every port. We were offered NO compensation and were told that was because every port was eventually reached. We arrived back at port late and many missed their flights. The cruise the week prior missed a port and the passengers received small cabin credit determined by the stateroom category. We've missed Coco Cay at least 25 percent of the time ( because of sea conditions or weather) when we sail in that region and there is never any compensation. We have a sea day rather than the Coco Cay stop. It may be different because they know about the issues. If you have 4 days and only two are in Nassau, there must be a sea day there somewhere. A bit confused. M

I am going to look back at it and see if they have it wrong or if I just had a senior moment! :) OK. It says Orlando (Port Caneveral) so I will call it a semi senior moment! mets550 Posted July 16, 2015 #23 Share Posted July 16, 2015 Great, then they'll be hogging the left hand lane. I left a message at C&A asking for them to contact the ship to answer: 1: Will the casino be open? (Sounds like yes.) 2: Will the MDR be open for lunch at least one of the days? (I assume yes on day two but we'll see.) 3: What is our cabin facing (port side) when we dock in Nassau? We love the ocean breeze and beautiful views. If we're staring at another ship for three days I'd be upset, especially after paying extra for a suite.
2Shoes2Go Posted July 16, 2015 #24 Share Posted July 16, 2015 We're certainly bummed! Hope we don't dock facing the Nassau mess or another ship. We likely would have cancelled, if this had been announced before final payment. My baby sister's once a year treat. :(
monctonguy Posted July 16, 2015 #25 Share Posted July 16, 2015 I agree missing Coco Cay is disappointing, but it has happened to me 50% of my trips based on weather, nothing to do with RCI...so I never count on making it to the island when doing that 4 day cruise. As for Nassau, I really enjoy it. Both times that we got "stuck" there overnite, I had a blast at senor frogs and then Club Bambu.....met people from Atlantis as well as crew from the ship that were there. At least you know in advance and can try to make some plans around it..rather than being told a few hours before like normal.
