Miami, 1 night precruise hotel room suggestions

Thank you for the info. My mom and dad have decided to stay at Essex but I will be heading to Orlando for a week with the kids post cruise. Most likely will stay at the Hard Rock @ Universal.

Pre cruise we booked at the Mariott Biscayne for $219 includes deluxe upgraded bay view, breakfast and port transfers. Intercontinental was unavailable for the 19th. How is the area around the Mariott? Are we close by to anything? Thanks again for your help, its very much appreciated.:D

The Biscayne Bay Marriott is a nice hotel, with the best views of the port from the SE rooms. There's nothing to walk to from there though. If you want to go to Bayside it's best to take a taxi. It's a short ride, less than 5 minutes, but you don't want to attempt to walk it. There are several very large construction projects, and homeless who hang out under the overpasses between the hotel and Bayside.

These are all decent downtown hotels, something for every price range...

Drat, all those were either booked up for the night of Nov. 5th, or the best rate was over $200. So we took your other advice and found a room for around $100 at the Hampton Inn Airport South instead.

Let me echo others here and say thanks for all the great info! :)

best,

Laura

We have always flown in the day our cruise leaves. Since we will be sailing during "hurricane" season, which actually seems to have been most of this year, we are definitely going to fly down the day before. I was just wondering what you would recommend in the $150 - $175 a night range? We would prefer to be away from the airport and closer to the port. Thank you for your help.
