scaper Posted July 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2015 We are cruising out of FTL in September and I am looking for suggestions for a good place to stay the night before. Any good ideas?? Thanks
Bunkie103 Posted July 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Lots of choices. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Convention Center. Price was reasonable, breakfast included (continental) and there is a bagel place across the road. Walking distance to a store to purchase wine and plenty of restaurants on 17th Street from fast food to fancy. They also offered a free shuttle from the airport and a shuttle to the port for $5 pp but a taxi cost about the same. Love cruising out of FLL. My prices are based on 2 years ago. scaper Posted July 25, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Thanks, We will be driving down from the Orlando area and then parking at the port. We never left from FTL, I can't wait to try it out
joepeka Posted July 25, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2015 You might want to visit the Florida Departures forum on the North American Home Ports board for lots of suggestions on hotels in FLL. We personally prefer the Embassy Suites on 17th street. Free breakfast, free nightly happy hour, adjacent to the Harbor Shops with lots of restaurants, a Total Wine and a Publix. khut Posted July 25, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Thanks, We will be driving down from the Orlando area and then parking at the port. We never left from FTL, I can't wait to try it out You might want to check out Park and Go for cruise parking. About half the price of parking at the port itself , (if you pre pay)valet parking lot, great shuttle service with plenty of shuttles, and only 5 minutes from the ship. On return, they drop you off right at your car. Have used them MANY times and always had great service!

cruiseapril Posted July 26, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 26, 2015 We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express 17th St. several times. We like the area for walking to shops and restaurants (and we do not cross the boulevard.) We also like that it is a fairly quiet hotel with a helpful front desk.
