Smoking on Fantasy

OK. I saw the map of approved smoking areas on the Fantasy. This will be our fist cruise wit Carnival since the balcony smoking change. My question, is smoking allowed in the club next to the casino all the time, or just when music is playing?

It is usually closed or having some other type of non-smoking function.

"most" do not still use balconies for smoking, a few may but they are doing it against the rules. In several cruises (all balconies) we have only had one incident where someone was smoking in the vicinity. DH called them out (loudly) then someone else called them out very loud as well after hearing DH, all we heard was the slamming of their door!!! No more smoking, actually quite amusing and very unexpected to the one smoking, embarrassed to say the least (heard many chuckles after door slammed). LOL......:eek:

If I experience someone smoking on our next cruise on their balcony, I'll be down at guest services, or calling security. Princess does not allow it and people do not smoke on their balcony. I've seen people vaping but not smoking a cigarette. A yell out that it's a $250 fine for smoking on their balcony usually sends them inside their cabin.

I did not know smoking was allowed in the nightclub, last May (2014) the only area INSIDE that was smoking was the casino and a very small portion of the bar directly next to the casino(that I knew of). That was when smoking was allowed on Balconies. Smoking in the casino was only when playing and not allowed when the casino was closed. You could smoke in the bar area but only when it was open so I guess the same rules would apply for the nightclub. It was usually open later in the evening an by that time I was in the casino or on the outside decks.. not sure I have ever went in there in 5 cruises on the Fantasy! Hope this helps...

Something I wish Carnival would do, is put in better ventilation systems in their smoking areas. I am a non smoker and do feel for the limitations put on smokers, but also I enjoy the bar at the casino...when the bands are there...the smoke is so thick. I just never understood why the ventilation is so poor.

 

I used to go to hole in the wall bar, because they featured local bands, it was always smokey until owner installed a new ventilation system...when it was on it was like no one smoked in the place.

Im not sure about the fantasy class but we just got off the Conquest. There was a bar towards the back deck 5 that you could smoke in. It was open to smoke in 24 hours a day even when nothing was going on.

Be glad that was not me. I would have yelled back that I was already planning on paying the fine. You get 4 smokers sharing the fine out of one cabin, its not that big of a deal. That is my plan next month!

How in the world did you survive making it to platinum before the balcony ban took effect? If Princess cruisers are perfect, stay with them.

So basically Carnival has a rule NO SMOKING on balconies or in rooms and you are blatantly going to ignore the rule? So what about the people next to you who booked a balcony because the rule is no smoking and that's why they chose to spend extra money on a balcony because they thought they wouldn't have to deal with someone else's habit? That's fair, in your eyes?

There were many times we were driven off our balcony because of smokers next to us. We realized they had that right to smoke on their balcony. Now the rule has changed, we have that right not to have to deal with smoke while enjoying our balcony.:D

I guess every non smoker should cruise Princess. They are perfect according to that post. That was the irritating statement.

It is fair because every smoke I take on my balcony, I will give the neighbors at least 30 minutes to clear their lungs out before I light another!

I can smoke one in about 10 minutes so my neighbors are getting a bargain. Its kind of like a one for three!

actually this is kinda interesting.

 

you do know its $250 per infraction and after the 1st fine they have the right to kick you off the ship.

 

As much as you care about others near you, I hope you find out that its not just a $250 fine...I really hope you find out
