typically when do TAS release unsold cabins?

Wondering if it's true that TA release unsold cabins and if so how far in advance from start of cruise. TIA

I have been wondering the same thing, as my cruise has been showing sold out in all the balcony cabins I am interested in.

Our three day cruises usually have the release date just before final payment. If the cruise is selling fast Carnival will pull the unused ones earlier.

When we grab blocks or book groups, our cabins release back when final payment is due.

It depends on the length of the cruise. As I recall (without looking it up on Carnival's web site):

 

3-5 day cruises - 60 days

7 day and longer cruises - 75 days

 

I believe transatlantic and European cruises are something like 90 days.

True - the agency will usually release the unsold cabins back to the cruise line at final payment time.
