OBC Promo-what uses?

So we picked the $200 OBC over the drink and dinner packages as our perk. Can it be used for the Daily Service Charge?

I don't see why not. the OBC is applied to your account and the daily service charge(tips) are automatically billed to the same account. Unless I'm missing something?

You are. The billing system won't charge DSC from non-refundable OBC. That has been the rule for "always" but they updated the system to actually enforce it couple of years ago.

I guess I either never have the much OBC or I spend over the non-refundable amount! :D

Somewhere on these many threads, I read that the casino will no longer cash out non-refundable OBC.

You can use it for shore excursions, specialty restaurants, bars, gift shops, extra gratuity over and above the DSC, that you want to give the steward (you have to go to guest services and complete a voucher to do this).

I will just have to cash out in the casino.

Side note, OBC awarded by your travel agent CAN be used for service charges. It's only the OBC awarded by NCL that can not be used for DSC.

ok, try post 8--the point is, it has been reported that the casino is no longer allowing cash outs of non-refundable obc.

I guess that NCL has realized that a lot of people were doing this. I wonder if when you cash out then you will have a balance of your account for the amount that you took out of the casino. Very interesting, but I am not surprised.

If you think you will cruise again, you can use it for a Future Cruise Credit. That's how we almost always use ours that way if we don't use it for NCL excursions.

That's a good idea-

Can it be used for excursions? If yes, then can I still buy them in advance?

No, to use the onboard credit you have to buy them while you are on the ship, AND they will be more:mad: Can you tell I just had a discussion with the ShoreEx dept this afternoon?

Yes I can :) We like to book in advance so we get what we want (its also so hassle free). but maybe not this time!

We have always been able to book what we wanted if we did it right away. it's still pretty hassle free. Just fill out the form and put it in the box. The tickets will be put on your door in a day or so. It also seems like there are more available on the ship than were available online, but perhaps I just imagine that.
