Windjammer vs Lido Deck

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I am considering booking the Allure for next fall. I've been on 3 Carnival cruises before this, my first time on another cruise line.

I am researching the food options now. How does the Windjammer compare to the Lido? Is there something like the Mongolian Wok? What options are available typically there?

Having cruised both Royal and Carnival, I would say the biggest difference is the setup. Royal ships are much more user friendly in terms of passenger flow because of the stations of food, rather than just a buffet line.

I think it depends on the ship, but overall I would say I highly prefer WJ over Carnival's Lido. The Lido on Carnival Splendor was hideous, without exaggeration. While on the Breeze it wasn't as bad, but still not very good. And I'm not including the Pizza and Guy's Burgers in the Lido, just the inside buffet lines.

Very impressed by the lido offering on Carnival Valor.

Much more free seating with it being on two floors.

I found things I can't get on RCI such as Fish n chips, freshly made burritos, freshly made pizzas, and the freshly grilled burgers knock spots of RCI's appalling excuse for a burger in the WJ which usually sits for ages in a greasy tray under a heat lamp.
