Best time and cabin for a fjord cruise with p&o

Thinking of a Fjord cruise in 2016 - what is the best time of year and are there any good cabins sides to pick for the best views / experiences?

Best time of year depends on what you want to see. For Northern Lights, February-March. For snow on the mountains, May. For waterfalls, probably June because the snow may not be melting in May. Midnight sun, best on 24th June (naturally) but July pretty nearly as good. August is probably the warmest on average, though very little in it.

 

As for side of ship, it's irrelevant. You sail into the fjords in one direction, turn round, and sail out again. Both sides get the views. You may well find yourself on deck anyway, so you can look both sides.

I would not worry about which side of the ship you will be on. The best views will be from the open deck.

 

I would put more emphasis on cabin location such as maybe booking a room more mid deck if rough seas bother you.
