wjf Posted August 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2015 As some of you may already know Captain Dexter is leaving the Odyssey to start a new training and development role across the Seabourn fleet. Some lovely words on his blog about the Odyssey years and good to know that he will keep on blogging!!:) http://www.captainmarkdexter.com/ship-blogs/seabourn-odyssey-med-season/
Rare fudge Posted August 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Thank you for posting this. We have just come off his last cruise, Istanbul/Istanbul. I had the pleasure of speaking with him on more than one occasion. One of the nicest down to earth guys I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, a real gentleman. It was an honour and a privilege to be on his last cruise.
wripro Posted August 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2015 I'm so glad Mark put the maiden world cruise on Odyssey 2010 at the top of his memory list. I was on that cruise (half of it anyway) and shared some wonderful moments with him throughout.

Martita B. Posted August 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 17, 2015 Captain Dexters 1st Seabourn sailing on the Pride he held frog races! He came to my suite with the wooden frogs (the ship carpenters had made them for him) and the ropes and taught me how to race ~we had never had this fun event. I came in 2nd...."Lulu" (then Maitre' d) won ~ Captain Mark will sorely be missed as a Master. Martita B.
markham Posted August 17, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 17, 2015 While Capt Dexter is moving on to train officers and sustain Seabourn standards in a new capacity, I am sure we will see him on the ships. One important question: Will the Odyssey continue sponsoring Capt Dexter's charity donation chest at Seabourn Square for the Lord's Taverners cause? I certainly hope so! Happy sailing and see you around, Captain!
Winner Posted August 17, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 17, 2015 I sailed with Captain Dexter many times on Pride and more recently on Odyssey. I will miss him on Odyssey in December. Congratulations, Mark, on your promotion--I hope to see you again on a Seabourn sailing! Winnie
