Curtis Stone restaurant is called 'SHARE'

I remember the Painted Desert & for $5 it included a margarita. :D

We dined there on the Grand & Star which is now the Crown Grill. The Golden also had it in the same location before the overhaul moved the casino to where the Painted Desert was originally located. The original casino location is where they built the Crown Grill and the WS cabins.

I believe the food was described as Santa Fe style even though it was Mexican food. ;)

Frank I think that was what it was called.

I am very disappointed to see Sabatini's go - I "got" the concept of Northern Italian and really enjoyed it. The room is also stunning on the Emerald and Ruby. Looks like it gets a refresh as it's reinvented for this concept.?

Yes it does appear that the Sabatini venue will undergo a physical change as well as a concept change. Does anyone know how long the renovation will take and if any sailings of the designated ships will be affected by construction?

Hi Everyone:

We are looking forward to sampling Curtis's selections. We are sailing in late October, this year, so we will only be able to sample from the MDR menu.

We have done many "Chef's Tables" before in real restaurants on land and from what I have seen on Princess cruises, Curtis will make the Chef's Table truly gourmet. I have looked at many Chef's Tables menu from Princess and they are "alright". Pretty "pedestrian" from a food perspective.

I would NOT pay to eat at Sabatini's, maybe Sterling. It's a great time to say Good Bye to mediocre Italian food.

Anyway, if you want to see more of what Curtis does, he owns a restaurant in Beverley Hills California. Google Maude and look at what he cooks. This will be great for true "foodies".

Have a great cruise everyone:

Hi Dorothy...based on this other thread & the Princess press release, the Coral would have Sabatini's converted to SHARE during her January drydock to be ready for late January 2016.

While some of the menu items sound interesting, the images of the venue itself look truly awful to me. The chairs look uncomfortable and lots of uncarpeted floor means the noise level may be bad. We enjoyed Sabatinis on the Emerald and her sisters and thought it was a lovely place to have an intimate dinner with good views sometimes (we loved dining there when we went through the Strait of Messina). This concept looks uninviting to me, but that's just my opinion.

I missed it. Where did you see the menu?

I've only seen a few items in their press release & searching online find no menu. Unless she has insider's info on the menu the only thing that has been disclosed is a few items in the press release.

Bite YER tongue.

Thats one of my favs.

Tongue bit. :p Ouch. That's why I'm worried. I love Adagios and I can imagine how Princess would mess it all up for profit. It's calm, serene, beautiful views, pleasant music, but they may want to replace all that with people hollering, "Hey! Pass the potatoes!"

Hi Dorothy! Interesting question. Not sure if they will do this when underway or in a dry/wet dock. :)

Maybe the "Hey! Pass the potatoes!" Might just wake up some of the walking dead aboard ship. :)

That's probably why Princess would change it.:(

Am I to understand that seating is like anytime dining where you share a table with strangers or can get a table for two? I don't see a problem with family style if you are with family or friends. If you are traveling together chances are that you are subjected to the virus either way.

I guess it's what you're used to, because, in my opinion, good Italian food is not found in NY either. There is a world of difference between NY Italian and real Italian. My MIL was from Italy and I found her cooking to be closer to what I found in Italy.

I agree. I'm also of Italian heritage and live in NY. No restaurant even in Little Italy can compare to my grandmother's

cooking. She made her own pasta from scratch and didn't even use a recipe. Don't even get me started on the cookies. It's a lost art.

I read a question on the Princess Facebook site about the cost but they didn't give a price only stating that "there will be a nominal cover charge for SHARE much like with our other specialty dining options".

It seems odd to put out a press release without knowing what it will cost?
