lagienomai Posted August 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2015 I am booked early saver and just got my first drop sunday. A whole 20 dollars :) . I was looking at different sites today and found a site that has my cruise 60 cheaper. Can you price match to sites other that Carnival?
cruizinisthebest Posted August 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2015 You can, but make sure you are price matching the same rate type, cabin type, and everything. I don't see how another website can be $60 cheaper if it's the exact same room and rate you are booked.
lagienomai Posted August 19, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted August 19, 2015 It is the same room type but it is a resident rate. I figure I could submit form and see what they say. I double checked carnivals resident Rate and it is more than the site I am looking at.
klfrodo Posted August 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2015 I don't think you can price match a non carnival.com price

You can price match to any site selling Carnival cruises. Just make sure you fill out the form as complete and specific as possible. And if they reject it, call! lagienomai Posted August 19, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted August 19, 2015 So I submitted the form and it says it was approved, but I don't see an increase in the OBC.. I may just have to call.

nwcruiselover Posted August 19, 2015 #10 Share Posted August 19, 2015 It isn't new. You can price match to any website that offers the cruise to the general public. So that excludes sites where you have to be a member to book, group cruises, etc. There's a place on the price protection form to indicate which website you saw the fare on. I have only price matched to Carnival's website, but I know it can be done with other websites.
cruizinisthebest Posted August 19, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 19, 2015 I thought it was only on Carnival's site - not other sites. Is this something new? Not new. You can price match to other sites. Thing is from my experience there's usually no difference in price when matched verbatim, but the OP said he found a lower price, so he/she should submit and try. Syren99 Posted August 19, 2015 #14 Share Posted August 19, 2015 F-Y-I... Booked OS for three folks about 4 months ago. Checked Fare Viewer "Fall Into Savings" price couple of days ago; price was $400 less than our original booking. Filed Price Protection form and in less than 2 hours had $400 onboard credit. :)
