needleinahaystack Posted August 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2015 Has anyone sailed out of Kai Tak Cruise Terminal on Seabourn. Just discovered thats where we sail from next April 2016 on Sojourn. Just wondered what its like.
florisdekort Posted August 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2015 I sailed out of there on Celebrity last year. It's brand new, super modern and only about a 15 min. taxi ride from the major hotels in Kowloon or on Hong Kong Island.
travelingduo Posted August 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2015 We sailed from there on Silversea. Easy to get to and very nice, modern terminal.
Rare Tothesunset Posted August 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2015 While the Kai Tak terminal is modern etc, it is a little way out of the main action necessitating either a long, hot walk (wouldn't recommend it) or a taxi. Ocean Terminal at the tip of the Kowloon peninsula was way more convenient. However, as Hong Kong is the finest place on earth (we used to live there so may be a little biased) the minor hardship of a US$10 taxi ride is a small price to pay! needleinahaystack Posted August 21, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Sounds great. Last time we came into honkers with seabourn we disembarked at ocean terminal. So with out thinking when we booked the next cruise we thought great marco polo hotel is right there very convenient for boarding got a super deal for a couple of nights to discover they now leave from kai tak. Having said that its no hardship as its nice to stay right on the harbour, we love hong kong. Cant wait.

wripro Posted August 22, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 22, 2015 Are there always taxis available at Kai Tek Terminal?
tv24 Posted August 22, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 22, 2015 Are there always taxis available at Kai Tek Terminal? We've had only one experience. We embarked on a Celebrity cruise, but were overnight in HK. Went out to dinner with our traveling friends and had to wait about 15 or 20 minutes for a taxi to take us into the center. May have been bad luck. Others should chime in...
