Norwegian Star balcony cabins?

We have just made a quick decision to take a Western Caribbean cruise on the Star in January 2016 since we will already be in Tampa to visit family. Before we go ahead and purchase our cruise we would like to know which balcony rooms would be best or more importantly which ones would not be recommended. If anyone could provide some info on this or anything else regarding this cruise we would appreciate it.

Thanks

We have a really fun group going on Jan. 3rd! Let me know if you need any information.

Generally speaking mid ship balconies, and some of the AFT balconies are best. Avoid the deck 8 AFT balconies as they have noise problems from the nightclub below.

Good rule of thumb is to check what is above and/or below you on neighboring decks.

We enjoy the 180 degree view from the Aft Balconies. If you can get a wrap-around on deck 9 - that's the ultimate.

  • 3 weeks later...

We like the midship balconies. On the Star we had 11118, around the corner from the elevators. We never heard any noise from foot traffic and it was the perfect location. We could walk down the hallway to the spa or just go right up the stairs to the pool deck.

How do we know which ones are the wrap-around balconies?

The cabins with the wrap around balconies are suites. I know because we are on that cruise as well. Deck 9 aft corner suite. we always get an aft suite. Best view by far.

geez, our T/A booked us an aft cabin on deck 8, I hope there isn't noise from the clubs......I was looking forward to this type of balcony for a change.

If you check the NCL Deck plan all the aft balconies are right over the Spinnaker Club.

The aft inside cabins are of course in this noise area - "BUT" it isn't all that

bad as the entertainment is not all that loud and does not last into the wee

hours. The entertainment will vary from night to night and not all is of the

loud reverberating drum roll percussion earth shattering polluting bulkhead

shaking tempo ! The noise is contained within the lounge area and does not

spill out into the open area upwards into the balcony space.

So relax it won't be as bad as your worst nightmare. Have some milk and

cookies (if you can find them) or a drink of something else but not with take

two of these and call me in the morning.

A balcony cabin - open the door and let the waves lull you to lullaby land -

you may not want to do this on a Alaska cruise but the Caribbean the temperature

extremes are not all that eventful.

The only really big noise that will be eventful is the early morning docking at a

port when the ships azipods (electric engines) thrust the ship sideways and

in reverse to park at a dock.

One of the advantages of being aft in the ship is when something is spotted

whales dolphins etc. those in the front (bow) of ship will have missed it by

the time it is announced - in the aft you have time to take a gander to see

the announced event.

"Don't Worry Be Happy" :)

The NCL STAR is a grand ole ship and not like the mega ships with entertainment

emanating from every port hole and open deck space.

You will enjoy it and I am sure you will have +Positive+ comments about your voyage !
