lbryant Posted August 31, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2015 I know this program is a couple of years old, but for those who might have missed it, like me, or for those going on Oasis soon and want to get ramped up, like me :)), here's a link to the full documentary on YouTube. MegaFood: The World's Biggest Cruise Ship https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaAtUYi-pg4 We leave in a few days, so we really enjoyed learning about what happens behind the kitchen doors. Can't wait for Lobster night. Actually, can wait cause I don't want to rush the rest of the cruise. Happy Eating!

Sounds like you are loving this behind the scenes stuff, so would highly recommend the "All Access Tour". It's a bit pricey at £100/$140 but worth every penny to see all the venues below decks that passengers don't see, like the bridge, the laundry, kitchens, storage, staff quarters, control room and you get to learn alot about how the ship runs. Spaces are limited so book before you cruise if available, if not ask as soon as you get onboard.

bonvoyagebites Posted September 1, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2015 Ahhhhhh Cruise food. Gotta love it. I have a handful of videos on youtube, and the most popular is definitely the "Food Porn" video.
Cinerama Posted September 1, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2015 Thanks for posting it. I've never seen it before, and I'll be on her next month. 9/12 for me. First time on Oasis, first time on RCL.
fuzzmane Posted September 1, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 1, 2015 Will be on the Oasis for the first time on 11/28/2015. Not sure how I will like it, because of its size. It should be very interesting. Its a cruise and I am on vacation, so all is good.
lbryant Posted September 2, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted September 2, 2015 boarding on Saturday. I think we calculated about 25lbs of food for each person (based on 6k guests). Wonder how much lettuce and fried tomatoes they throw out?? One day I'll do the behind the scenes tour. The whole family is on this trip, so everything I do is 5x the cost. I'll look up your food porn. We are those people taking pics of every dish. Need something to get through the Top Ramen days.
andrea2609 Posted September 2, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 2, 2015 I disembarked oasis 5 days ago, I'm still on shock. The quality of the food at MDR was simply perfect, and I'm Italian and love good food... I asked for the All Access Tour, but 150$ is way too expensive, in my opinion.
