lovethe24car Posted August 31, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2015 Does anyone know of a hotel, etc. that offers a half-day rate in Papeete? Ship arrives there in the morning and flight isn't until late evening. Thanks in advance!
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 31, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2015 Have you asked on the Ports of Call board for that area? EM
paul929207 Posted August 31, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2015 Also check on your Roll Call. I think the people on our South Pacific cruise in October/November were not successful looking for a hotel to hang out at. They have booked a room at a hotel for the night and will reboard in time for sailing
SuiteTraveler Posted August 31, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2015 Contact these four hotels directly and ask if they have day passes Intercontinental http://www.tahiti-intercontinental.com Le Meridien http://www.lemeriden-tahiti.com Manava Suite http://www.spmhotels.com Radisson http://www.radisson.com/tahiti They have had day passes in the past. Not sure about availability. I will tell you a way you can always get a day pass, though: Make spa reservations! Then you can check you luggage and indulge in the spa, have some lunch and relax while you spend some quality time getting ready for that fun, fun flight home! I know that they don't offer a hotel service, but they do allow their guests with the late flight to use the ship. Guests must leave their cabin by 10 AM, but can use the ship facilities until their transfer to the airport. Instant extra day on the ship! (If not Princess, just check with your cruiseline for policy on staying onboard). You wouldn't have your luggage, other than your carry on bag, but all facilities (including the pool) and dining (the MDR or buffet) are available. I'm not sure how they handle bar/lounge service but you can check at the Purser's Desk.
Jhawktraveler Posted September 1, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2015 When we were in Papeete a few years ago on the Paul Gauguin there were island tours and day passes to hotels offered through the cruise line on the day of disembarkation. We were staying a couple of extra days so we didn't use the day pass but there were definitely some on the cruise that did at the Radisson (our hotel) and the Intercontinental since the flights don't typically leave until late that night.
