HabsFan23 Posted September 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2015 As a fellow poster stated we are still in Miami. Im in the library with a toddler sleeping in the room with his daddy. I'm a bit disappointed about the Casino but oh well will lose my cash later! I wanted to let people know some answers I had trouble finding. For the regular slides (not the dead drop one) the minimum height is 40 inches. My kid is 36 inches was sooo disappointed. And the chlorine in the pool is hurting is skin so oh dear! But it should be fine. We had dinner in the Tropicana it was fine nothing special. Just had some noodles from the noodle bar those were excellent! The waiter told me the seafood ( she specified crab) would be at the buffet tomorrow so we shall see!
jchris1230 Posted September 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2015 Ahhh, I need to measure my daughter. We go in October. I was just telling my husband that I was wondering if she would be able to go on them, as I wasn't sure what the exact height was. Thank You
HabsFan23 Posted September 13, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted September 13, 2015 Also, granted we are still in port, the Internet is okay. Not good enough for any streaming or for playing internet games but good enough to surf and post here and check Twitter and facebook
Rare LMaxwell Posted September 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2015 Why is the ship still in port? I can't find another thread addressing this. Just curious. Sure you'll be out at sea soon :)

I'll let you know about the rope course Thanks so much for your quick reply. I was thinking it was around 48". Darn, you have to be at least 99 pounds to go on it? My daughter will be crushed. Carnival let her on theirs on the Pride (under 48" and only weighing 45'). :( She loved it. She'll be crushed if she can't do the ropes course as well. The free fall slid is designed in such a way that you need to weigh enough to go over a hump. There are reports that some people closer to the 100 pound minimum got stuck, and had to be let out. I've seen the same weight restriction on these slides at water parks.

Oh yea, I forgot about the hump. I'm WELL over the 100# mark  :o and got to the very top of the hump and stopped myself (on the Getaway last year) and just scooted a little and then went on down. I guess that makes sense now. Thanks for reminding me of that. :)
HabsFan23 Posted September 14, 2015 Author #16 Share Posted September 14, 2015 It ended up leaving a bit before midnight. This day hasn't been great for Norwegian, to my eyes. This is our first cruise away from RCI. And the differences are starting to show. We jumper ship from Royal because of the insane price bumps for thr Allure and Oasis but I think we'll try Disney next. It'll be worth the extra cash. Although just one day in, maybe I'm judging too fast. It's the little things. The public washrooms that reek of urine. We have the unlimited drinks package and there's lineups everywhetr never mind flagging a waiter. It took 30 minutes of playing at the Casino to even see a waiter. We went to Cagneys tonight and it wasn't great. The hubs upgraded to the lobster for an extra 10$ but it was only the tail, a big one but we must have misread we thought it was an entire lobster. It took 20 minutes to get a gin n tonic and it came with dessert. Little things but it adds up. Just my day's observations. Also for the parents who worry about thr diapers in the kids area: dont. Out of the 30 kids in there this afternoon over 10 had diapers and most of them not even hidden under swim trunks.

We have the drink package this time and I know on the last cruise it was very hard to get any service (and we were just trying to get a soda).

I was worry about that.. some people said you can, some people said you can't play at the splash area even with swim diapers. Thank you ! Do you mind taking pictures of the MDR menus? we are leaving in 17 days and would like to know what abouts they are serving. No worries if you can't! thanks in advance !! enjoy your cruise ! HabsFan23 Posted September 14, 2015 Author #20 Share Posted September 14, 2015 Just so we are clear there are rules posted that say they are not allowed. People just disregard and no one enforces. They also roped off the litlle slides in the kiddy area but kids are going under the net and trying to slide and getting hurt and crying. Then the staff will tell them no but the parents let them get right back on. We just playef mini golf it was a fun course. The rope course is closef because of the wind. Also yesterday, two teenagers after being ignored at a bar trying to get soda for about 10 minutes starting a thing with the bartender who pretty much told thrm off. Since she had asked me what i wanted with a chin jut, i was on their side.
HabsFan23 Posted September 14, 2015 Author #21 Share Posted September 14, 2015 So as i stated up there, mu husband ordered the "whole main lobster" for an extra 10$. It was tail only no claws. How is that whole?? Now I'm kicking myself for not saying anythng.
Rare LMaxwell Posted September 14, 2015 #22 Share Posted September 14, 2015 Now I'm kicking myself for not saying anythng. Don't kick yourself over it. you are onboard the ship. This is the proper time to correct any issues. I am sure the restaurant manager will want you to be happy and resolve it for you.
HabsFan23 Posted September 14, 2015 Author #23 Share Posted September 14, 2015 But we saw others go by that were the same. You mean i should argue about what they call their item? They must know its not correct?
E46M3 Posted September 14, 2015 #24 Share Posted September 14, 2015 how's the bar service after a couple days? We have the UBP package as well and we're very concerned with the wait time. Thanks!
rochelle_s Posted September 14, 2015 #25 Share Posted September 14, 2015 But we saw others go by that were the same. You mean i should argue about what they call their item? They must know its not correct? If the menu says whole lobster for an up-charge of $10 and all you receive is a tail, then yes you should definitely say something. They either provide the whole lobster or adjust the price accordingly. If I were you I would be saying something about the poor drink service as well. Stop by guest services and pick up a form by the box for "tell the Hotel Director". Fill that in and you should be contacted. Alternatively if you were at the M & G and picked up the card with the ships officers contact numbers, then give the corresponding officer to your concern a call. If NCL wants to add extra fees and built in service charges to their specialty restaurants and promote and sell UBP, then should be staffing and supplying accordingly. In my opinion excessive waits for beverage service is unacceptable and certainly for the excuse of "well there are lots of people with the UBP". If they sell a lot of UBP then the very opposite should be the case, when they know they have a high number of of people on the ship who will be drinking then should staff the bars accordingly as well as have floor servers on the floor making sure the guests are happy. Hope things improve on board for you. Enjoy the rest of your cruise. Rochelle
