UK cruisers do you tip luggage porters?

As the title says really.. can't remeber if I tipped luggage porters last time..

Depends which country we are in, no in Europe, yes in the US.

Only travelled once with RCI in the UK and we arrived at the port by coach and was guided into the terminal by staff and did not see our bags again until they arrived in the room mid afternoon.

Wherever we board or, disembark the ship, we always tip the porters. :)

Yes.

 

We cruised from Southampton and tipped £5 for two suitcases.

If we're on a bus, where the driver handles the bags, we never see porters, so there's no one to tip! If WE hand our bags to a porter, we tip $1-2 per bag. We never see the baggage guys on departure day, so no tipping!

Yes, absolutely I do, whichever port I am sailing from. Out of Southampton, for 2 cases, I give £5. They are always so appreciative because so many people don't.

Thanks all the last time I tipped at Southampton it was on dollars 😨 poor porters.. next time it will be in £ ☺

The only time I've tipped in Southampton was on disembarkation from a world cruise where I grabbed a guy and he waited while I found my four cases. I gave him a fiver. On arrival I've never tipped, not sure why I should, he only grabs the case from me and plonks it on a trolley!

He could always leave you to grab your own bags and haul them thro' security yourself. :o
