PoM to PBI?

We are flying into FLL before our cruise but looks better to fly out of PBI afterwards. Has anyone had experience getting from PoM to PBI via the metro rail? Which station did you go to from PoM - we were thinking the Miami Airport station and ride all the way up. How did you get from PoM to station? Cab/Uber? Thanks in advance - any advice is appreciated!!

In order to answer the tri-rail questions: What day of the week (I think the tri-rail schedule is different on weekends) and how much time do you have between leaving the ship and checking in (at least an hour before departure) at PBI? What is the departure time of the flight?

 

As an alternative - have you considered renting a car? One way rentals don't involve a drop off fee.

This will be on a Sunday. It looks like the trains leave every hour. We will have pleeeenty of time before the flight - doesn't leave til about 5. But that means we'll be able to watch football!

 

I did look at renting a car, but it seemed more expensive. Not prohibitive, but trirail looked pretty cheap (would rather spend money on umbrella drinks). I'll check it out again before we make a final decision. Will need to factor in cost to get from PoM to rail station. Thank you!
