Scheduling My Time Dining between shows

So, my schedule for the last day of the cruise currently looks like this:

Blue Planet, 5-5:45

My Time Dining, 6-8

Comedy Show, 8pm

I'm getting a warning that My Time Dining is overlapping the Comedy show, but I'm thinking that we will probably be out in plenty of time to send the kids to kids club and then go to the Comedy show.

Is that a wrong assumption?

We also found it a good idea to tell the serves and server assistants that you are trying to get to an 8pm show. On Freedom last year - they were great. At least it couldn't hurt!

We've never known MTD take anything like 2 hours - unless we've dallied over ordering/eating.

If you take a look at the menu before you sit down and know what you want, tell your server when he/she brings you the menu and mention that you want to get out to see a show and you can be out in around an hour.

Agreed, was just going to say the same. We have never had a 2 hour dinner.

OP, I think your plan is fine, but yes, give yourself time to settle the kids plus you also have to find a seat at the show.

Thank you for the tips so far. It sounds like it is doable, but we will have to let our waiters know and possibly skip a course.

If push comes to shove, we could also just let the kids eat with the kids club that night and just have a grownups night or all just eat at Windjammer. The kids might make friends and be bored with us by then, or will have given up on kids club altogether by that point. Hard to tell, lol.

This is my second RCI cruise ever, and my first since 2010 (FOS). I've never had to "book" so much in advance before. When in doubt, I'm defaulting to over-booking dining and entertainment. It's easier to decide later on to do less than under-book and stress about being able to get dining and show times.

You can always leave. Worst case scenario is that you would miss dessert. Not like you'll need to worry about traffic or wait for the check.

Also, the dining room is at the other end of the ship from the comedy venue, so give yourself extra time. I'd plan to leave the dining room no later than 7:30pm.

That's a good point as the Oasis class ships are huge.

What about the theatre for Blue Planet? And also where Mamma Mia plays. Are these close to the MDR?

Opposite ends of the Ship.

Use the Royal Promenade to get there the fastest. If your DR is on 4 you can cut through the casino, and art gallery, but may take longer IMO depending on traffic.
