Yes, an 80-lb young male cougar was tranquillized in James Bay (near Ogden Point, where the cruise ships dock) yesterday. They think it was the same one that had been seen multiple times in Oak Bay (near us). They are relocating it to a hopefully distant area!

Well, Ann, that would certainly make a great adventure for the cruise ships pax, had there been any ships in!!

 

It must have wandered into town from a long way out. My friend lives in Rockland and her problem is the deer who eat all her "deer-proof" plants. Luckily, no cougars yet.
