cruising mickey Posted October 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2015 hello, are there any sites, like cruiseadvice.com, which spotlight the best / worst staterooms aboard cunard's vessels? thanks in advance.
Sauer-kraut Posted October 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2015 I would try a website about cruise deck plans with a com at the end. :D
jimmybean Posted October 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2015 People choose cabins based on a number of different criteria: price, enjoyment of motion, aversion to motion, proximity to elevators, ability to walk, tolerance of noise, desire for a specific type of balcony… et cetera I know of no other way to pick a stateroom except by studying deck plans yourself and applying your own personal criteria. I don't think any website could substitute if particular factors or issues are important to you. And, if they aren't you can often get a better price letting the cruise line choose your stateroom. Most locations on ships are tolerable and have pluses and minuses. Just being on a ship has always made DH and me happy. Good luck and happy sailing! Underwatr Posted October 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) The only ones that would cause any consternation for me would be the obstructed view balconies but ask.Cunard.com provides pictures showing the degree of obstruction. https://ask.cunard.com/help/cunard/fleet/qv_obs https://ask.cunard.com/help/cunard/fleet/qm2_obs https://ask.cunard.com/help/cunard/fleet/qe_obs Edited October 9, 2015 by Underwatr
rm3 Posted October 9, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2015 I haven't found just one place to go for that information but if you ahve some time you can do this- Look at deck plans for the ship you want. Here is an example for QM2: http://www.cunard.com/cruise-ships/queen-mary-2/deck-plans/ Then you can choose cabin numbers either randomly or by size or location on the ship. Make a list of the cabins you are curious about and then Google the ship and cabin number. i.e. QM2 cabin 10006 or QM2 cabin 5009. Sometimes you will see a trip report from someone who stayed in that cabin and sometimes you will find more generic information but there are numerous bits of information about any cabin I have ever searched for this way and some of that information has been very helpful.
