Day 2: Nassau, Bahamas

We don’t arrive to Nassau until 12noon, so I plan to get up first thing and go to the gym. We have a reservation with Resort For A Day to go to British Colonial Hilton, so we plan to eat before getting off. The ticket comes with a $40 food/beverage credit per person and Ethan gets $20, although he’s free, so I don’t know if they’ll honor that or not.

I wanted to hit the gym so got up at 6:15am and went for about 30 minutes. There were only 2 people including myself, but by the time I left there were about 6 people including myself. Once done, I went back to the room and found Tommy and Ethan awake. Room service came right at 7am. After eating few things from that we went up to Deck 6 for a coffee at Latte-Tudes and then Park Café for a breakfast sandwich for myself.

Tommy wanted food from Windjammer so we went there afterwards. Right now we’re just relaxing and waiting for us to arrive in Nassau.

Here are some calm seas for ya:

We took Ethan to Adventure Ocean at 9am, Tommy went to the gym and I relaxed in the Solarium reading a magazine, waiting for Tommy. That was short lived when he came back saying it was packed. People were standing around waiting on machines.

We arrived at the very first cruise ship parking, closest to the Welcome Center about 11:30am. I grabbed a tomato mozzarella spinach Panini sandwich at Park Café (who has yet to change the menu board) and Ethan 2 quesadillas. He wouldn’t touch the quesadilla which is shocking.

After I finished my sandwich, we went to the Windjammer for Tommy. He got a variety of food – chicken, beef stew, pork loin and white rice. Ethan scarfed down the pork loin and some white rice.

Here is the hotel and beach next to Senor Frog's:

While eating we saw a water spout out in the distance. There were some dark clouds off in the distance from where we just came from. I hope the weather holds up for tomorrow.

Once we were done eating, we went back to the room to weigh on what to do. Yes we had reservations for Resort A Day, which we already paid $34 for, but we still had to pay another $86 once we got there to utilize their hotel, pool, beach, etc. Being unsure of what those storm clouds were going to do, we decided to stay on the ship and let Ethan play at the splash pad and kiddie pool. We have wine in the room we need to drink and food here is free.

We headed to the splash pad and let Ethan play. He ran into his friend Zach from Adventure Ocean. They played and played for a good 1.5hrs. Before we headed back to the room at 3pm, Zach told us he was going to the Kids Dinner with Adventure Ocean and asked if Ethan could go. I thought that was so cute! Of course Ethan said he wanted to go, so I said Sure, Ethan could go. I told his parents I’d sign him up and we talked about our kids past experiences with the camps onboard. I’m honestly proud of how Ethan’s been with this one. The last one we tried getting him to go to (Carnival Sensation) he wouldn’t have anything to do. With Ethan I really think it has to do with how inviting it is. Camp Ocean which was on Carnival Liberty was done up pretty well and was inviting and welcoming.

Anyways, we headed back to the room for a nap. Ethan passed out immediately after changing.

I called to sign him up for the kids dinner so I guess Tommy and I get a dinner alone. *Gasp* Tommy headed up to the gym since it was packed earlier. Some maintenance guys just came by to look at the carpet. I didn’t think anything was wrong with it, and haven’t said anything about it, but they said we deserve new carpet so if we’ll be gone tomorrow in CocoCay they’ll replace it. Ok, fine by me! (Replacing the carpet never actually happened. I mentioned it to Amyee our room steward which she didn't even know about it, but I never heard anything more.)

We took Ethan up to Adventure Ocean for the kids dinner at 5:45pm and noticed people were dressed up so once we were done checking him in we went back to the room to change. We thought elegant/formal night was tomorrow night, but it’s tonight. Once we changed we headed up to My Fair Lady for dinner just the 2 of us. After dinner we changed, checked on Ethan and headed to the casino. We went to get Ethan at 8:45pm and headed to the room for the night.

Day 3 – Coco Cay

We should arrive to Coco Cay at 8am so we plan to get off around 9am. First though I’ll hit the gym around 6am.

I got up and used the bike and a few arm machines in the gym this morning. Not as many people as yesterday morning. I grabbed a coffee on the way back to the room at 7am. Ethan wasn’t awake yet but room service had come so we waited for him to wake. We only ordered bananas, cereal and juice. We went up to the windjammer once he did and there was another storm headed our way, but it passed on by.

After eating breakfast it had pretty much passed so we headed to the room to change and get ready for the day on the beach.

Side note: We often asked for buckets of ice, so we kept one for Ethan to play with, which just so happened to fit his head. They must of done some type of chef learning thing in Aquanauts, because he says he's now "Chef Ethan", lol.

Headed to CocoCay!

Clear blue skies for the entire day (once the storm passed):

We were on the island by 10am, found 3 chairs under a tree, and sprayed on the suntan lotion. Tommy and Ethan went off to look at the jetski’s. We played in the water in the 2nd “cove” which was in front of our chairs. Ethan also played with a boy from Adventure Ocean for a little bit.

From what I had remembered from 4 years ago, they’ve really built it up since being there. They’ve added more food areas instead of the only one by the main area for food, and more huts for activities. Although I did not see them add food to the food areas behind us.

"Me" time! Adult beverage, magazine, peace and quite on a Caribbean island!

Ethan playing with some friends from Adventure Ocean:

Ethan started getting whiny so we planned to head back to the ship at 12:45pm and get lunch once onboard. On the way out we looked at “The Straw Market” and Ethan wanted a shirt. I thought they took ship cards but they do not, cash only so once we got back to the stateroom I grabbed some cash to head back out. Tommy got Ethan cleaned up and went upstairs for some lunch.

Waiting for another tender boat and getting to the island took longer than it did getting the shirt, paying and getting back on a tender boat. It’s ok. I got Ethan 2 shirts, one he wanted, and one I wanted him to have.

While waiting I saw this on the TV screen down on deck 1 waiting to back for Ethan's shirts: Note, I did not see any of these type of chairs with the "clam shell". I have only seen these at Half Moon Cay on Carnival's island.

Once I got back, I grabbed some lunch real quick since it was already 2:30pm and I was starving. I got another sandwich from Park Café, I’m really liking that place if you can’t tell, haha! Ethan was napping when I got back. I dozed off too for about an hour before getting up to get ready for dinner.

I called to make a reservation for Ethan to eat with Adventure Ocean.

We dropped Ethan off at 5:45pm and then we headed to My Fair Lady for dinner. The food was pretty good. I ordered the minestrone soup and caprese salad for an app, and the garlic tiger shrimp for an entrée. Tommy got the cocktail shrimp for an app, and the Marsala Chicken for an entrée.

Menu for night 3:

We went to check out the photos but didn’t like any of them, then took some sunset photos that was pretty.

It was 7pm so we headed up to check on Ethan. He was crying and didn’t eat dinner so we signed him out. Come to find out, he was upset that his friend Jack wasn’t there. Nothing looked good at the windjammer so we headed back to the room to order pizza for him.

I packed up while he ate and watched Wally Kazam. Side note: The tv’s have HDMI and USB plugs in the back, which is how I am playing his shows. Around 8pm I heard some star code on deck 4, then about 30minutes later the captain came on to say Deck 9 and 10 would be closed due to a medical emergency airlift. Then at 9:15pm they announced Deck 9 and 10 would remain closed since the first helicopter had to abort due to communication error and a 2nd helicopter would be sent out. I hope who ever it is, is ok!!!!

We received Luggage tag #1 to get off the ship but since we were self-assist we didn't use them. At 7am the CD Mark Walker "Bing Bong" announced we would be arriving late to the the port due to the passenger not being airlifted til 1:30am. Yikes!!!! Now we would not arrive to the port until 8:30am. We had been watching the cruise track on TV, and we were headed NW but then suddenly diverted dead West and then hung out in the water a bit, or slowed down tremendously. **Note: Cruise Director Mark Walker did give an update on his Facebook saying the passenger was in stable condition at a hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, as of Monday night. I hope they are doing better and can get home soon!

We were told to meet in the Ortheum theater so we did. Once that was full they said to go to My Fair Lady, then that was full, so go to Schooner Bar, and that was full so go to Boleros Lounge. At 9:45am we finally docked and was allowed off. First we were sent to the starboard side, and then reverted to turn around, cut through, and go to the port side, only to cut through the ship again. One last "ding" at 10:15am and we were off.

We headed to the parking garage, down to the shuttle area and found our shuttle bus. He took our ticket that we had from when we checked in on Friday with them and we got on the bus after he took our luggage. Once the bus filled up we were off to get our car.

After loading up our car and such, we stopped at RaceTrac for drinks and snack before hitting the road for an hour drive home. It was now 11am.

All in all, it was a great cruise and like usual, it went by way too fast! Work was crazy beforehand, and afterwards, but it was nice to get away for a weekend!!! We booked this over a year ahead so we saved a good amount of money since it nearly doubled in price, excluding gratuities.

I will attach the compasses and adventure ocean sheets in a separate post.

Enjoying the report -we will be on Friday, October 30th :D

Reading these reports helps me wait!

Was the craps table busy? My husband likes to play, but on some cruises it has been empty and that was no fun :-(

Hi Linda!

We will be on this sailing shortly after you - November 13th! :D

It's just a quick cruise to hold us over until Adventure again in January.

Hope you have a great sailing!

Great review! We were on this same sailing as you. In fact we are in the photo you took on the first day looking down on pool area.

We went to British Colonial Hilton in Nassau and it was really nice. It was pretty quiet around the pool (no loud music) and not a lot of people. The weather was fine for us until the very last part of the walk to the ship when it started raining hard. Maybe you will get a chance to go back to BCH.

We were sweating the late arrival due to flight out of MCO at noon. We did the self assist off, got a porter to skip the customs line, and grabbed the first taxi. He got us to MCO at 11!! I was amazed we made it...

Glad you had a great time. Your son is very cute!

Well we've returned from our cruise on Enchantment of the Seas. This review is onboard the Enchantment of the Seas, out of Port Canaveral, Thursday October 9, 2015 through Monday October 12, 2015. With me is my DH and DS who is 3.5yr old.

This review may be considered "plane jane" to some of you, but with a toddler in tow, that's what you get sometimes.

Just waiting for my photos to upload to Photobucket which is apparently taking a long time.

Forewarning, we did not attend any shows or hang out in any bars. It was either the casino, the room, the splash pad, or in port. I do have the compasses and the daily sheet for the Adventure Ocean Aquanatics class.

Friday, right?
