Things to do walking distance from ship

JUST WONDERING WHAT ANYONE COULD RECOMMEND AND TO WHAT TO DO WHEN U WALKED OFF THE SHIP? IS THE TOWN CLOSE OR IS THERE ANYTHING TO SEE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE? thanks:)

Ships dock right in the town of St. Johns.

I am not aware of 'sights' per se, but here is a guide if shopping is your thing.

 

Heritage Quay - Open-air. Straight up from pier (basically the main drag w/shops on each side of the street). Duty-free shopping, souvenirs, wide selection of sports bars & specialty restaurants, nightclubs and a casino. Warning: the taxi & tour guys fill the street and are very agressive.

 

Vendors' Mall (Flea Market) - a couple of blocks up and one block over to the right (corner of Redcliff and Thames streets). Jammed with stalls; air-conditioned indoor shops sell some higher-price, if not higher-quality, merchandise.

 

Redcliffe Quay - With the ship at your back, walk the boardwalk to your right and you'll find this area behind the pierside rest's/shops. This is a much quieter place to shop, has a shaded little park in the center. Gifts, pottery, paintings, and other locally made gifts, as well as clothes, shoes and accessories. Check out Sarah Fuller Pottery and stop for ice cream at Australian Homemade.

 

Market Street - a few blocks up the main drag, take a right on Market St. A 5-min. walk will bring you to the public market, and a local craft market. Across the street is the fish market and the Bus Terminal. Buses are 15 passenger mini vans. You can take buses to Jolly Beach. Valley Church Beach (among others ) for $1.50 pp.

 

Maybe others can provide info on things other than shopping.

No, sorry, no beaches within walking distance. Closest beach would be a ten-minute cab ride.

Hi! Need some help please. When Adventure and Serenade are in on the same day are they docked at the same pier? We have friends on the other ship and we are wondering if it will be easy to get together.

Typically the ships dock pretty close together. Your odds are good.
