Novemeber Promos

So this will work for my cruise on the Gem in December??? I have to call if so :)

 

Just a heads up, I did have to play hard ball but only for a minute.

 

They tried to pull the "This promotion is only applied to NEW bookings today and tomorrow." Well, I explained kindly that I have had this done before, where they can cancel out my reservation and just re-book. I think it might be a bit of an extra hassle for the reservation folks, but she put me on hold for about 5 minutes and came back and I was all set. :)

But it sounds like MsMercury was talking about December 2015, i.e. a cruise that is well past final payment and into cancellation penalty period. So the cancel and rebook argument to get a promo that is technically for new bookings is not likely to work, no matter how hard ball they play… Edited by hawkeyetlse

Oh right. That makes sense then.

I still get confused with the timeframes on those because I never do the final payment stuff as I go through a Casinos At Sea certificate and only pay port fees/taxes. All of that stuff is due upfront. :rolleyes:

Luckily my cruise fare had not gone up with this promo offer. When I look at the website it is clearly advertised on the sailing, next summer, in the search for cruise, pick a date, pick a stateroom.... At the end of the process it says book this sailing date and pick any two but you must call to book/cant be done online. Hurry only avail. till Nov. 1st. When I called the rep canceled my current booking went to the new booking, got to the end and it would not let her add the promos. She checked with her supervisor and said it was a website error. So I went through all that for nothing. I even had rep look up online and go through the process to verify it was clearly option from the beginning of the process. She agreed but said it's wrong. I don't understand why they took the time to add all those perks to my sailing dates, booking process... when it was not ever avail.

I'm thinking this won't work if we have kids sail free. Rebooking would wipe that out.

 

Yes you might be right. You may want to just call and ask if you have the time today or tomorrow. Doesn't hurt to inquire! ;)

 

I called a few minutes ago...we are past final payment and have the kids sail free promo (and UBP). It isn't an option to add the 2nd promo to our existing reservation. Since we are in the penalty phase, the only option would be to cancel / re-book at current pricing...which, based on the prices/promos available when we booked vs current prices / promos, would be much more expensive. She did say that I could watch prices and, if prices drop, then they sometimes offer a credit or an upgrade. I had no issues with her responses...it was actually what I expected. But, you never know...the answer is always NO if you don't ask. :)

I'm glad you inquired. It was such a great promo since it applied to all staterooms that I would at least call to make sure. :)

I am actually not too sure.

Through the Casinos At Sea line, it works a bit differently. You have a deadline of when you can book your cruise through. I can book mine (for this particular sailing) through today.

 

When I called, they started to give me push back claiming that since I already had a reservation I would be unable to get the promotion. I then told her can't you cancel my current reservation and rebook? She said she wasn't sure and put me on hold. She came back and it was all set and had added the dining package in addition to the beverage package.

 

I am kind of thinking she didn't have to cancel and rebook because wouldn't that require me having to give my credit card again and go through the whole process? :confused:

Nope, I got it!

They were able to do it and now I have both the UBP and Dining package! :cool::D

 

ME TOO my TA just called me back, on hold while they work it out.. just a little phone time and extra work for them to cancel rebook, Just hope they keep my in the cabin I chose, but there are 16 spa balconies still available So I don't see why they would have to change it.

I think they tell us this, I Just did the added second promo... Nothing changed still same cabin.... I am 90 days waiting for my turn. Only time they would need your credit card is for unlimmited drinks and dinner promo to add gratuities on...

We are on the breakaway in an inside in March 2016 with the UBP. Just sent a message to my travel agent to see if we can get the speciality dining too. Final payment is not until late December. Have not heard back from her but it seems that we should be able to do it?

 

Anyone know why this is a sudden 2 day change? What's the impetus behind it? Is this going to remain the November promo?

We are on the breakaway in an inside in March 2016 with the UBP. Just sent a message to my travel agent to see if we can get the speciality dining too. Final payment is not until late December. Have not heard back from her but it seems that we should be able to do it?

Yes you should be able to do it.

 

It's a Halloween promotion apparently? For just these 2 days and then the November promo takes over.

Must be a typo. The main freestyle choice page now has an asterisk with this term: "On cruises after May 1, 2016 Inside, Studio, and Oceanview stateroom bookings choose from; the Dining Credit, 100 WiFi Minutes, $25 Shorex Credit, or Soda" So presumably this is valid until cruises after May 1, 2016.

 

The terms and conditions on the page also say this: "*Pride of America sailings are not eligible for the offer. Norwegian Sky sailings beginning 12/23/15 are not eligible for the offer. "

There should be either added T&C's or a whole separate one for the weekend promotion. Seems this was thrown together in a hurry and not well thought out......Wondering how many people are calling in to book only to be told they do not get 2 promo's since their sailing is in 2016. People do not like having their time wasted, especially if they are placed on hold a while due to the volume of calls.

The T&C on the website is specifically for the 2 day promotion. Sailings in 2016 are included in the promotion up until April, with the exception of POA and Sky. It's all about reading the terms...
