CruisingCatherine Posted September 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2005 When I first began my planning for my European Vacation I had a tremendous amount of difficulty finding websites that I needed. I think part of this is due to the language difference. I think it would be a great idea to have a thread containing all the very helpful website links. Hopefully this will help those who are planning there trip in the future. These are some that I found very helpful: Tourisim Websites: http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/?go...a4vOJgiNq9k7Tgo (Barecelona) http://www.marseille-tourisme.com/s...NGUE=2&dist=1GP (Marseille) http://www.visitmonaco.com/ (Monaco) http://www.eze-riviera.com/emotions...t/ang/train.htm (Eze) http://www.comune.firenze.it/english/homenglish.htm (Florence) http://www.romaturismo.com/v2/en/main.asp (Rome) http://www.napoli.com/english/ (Naples) Barcelona Hotel: http://www.hotelcontinental.com/home_palacete.htm Barcelona Transfers: http://www.taxiinternacional.com/en...ternacional.htm http://www1.dragonet.es/users/d5506/ Private Guides: Marseille: http://www.provence-travel.com/prov...hiers/home.html http://provencetours.free.fr/accueil_anglais.htm Nice: http://www.azur-guides-interpretes.com/ http://www.dream-tours.com/layout.php?page=106&lang=us http://www.minibus-tours.com/villefranche.html Florence: http://www.driverinrome.com/ http://www.drivinguide.com/ http://www.florencetour.com/ http://limoinrome.com/home.htm Rome: http://www.carservicerome.com/eng/ http://www.driverinrome.com/ http://www.drivinguide.com/ http://www.romelimousine.com http://www.romeshuttlelimousine.com/ http://limoinrome.com/home.htm Naples: http://www.driverinrome.com/ http://www.drivinguide.com/ http://limoinrome.com/home.htm Feel free to add your own helpful websites!!

fmax Posted October 4, 2005 #12 Share Posted October 4, 2005 I was thinking when I had time to do a thread with the links but broken down by port. Might not get around to this for a while but might be useful for next year's cruisers. As it might be good to have a lot of info posted in one thread. However, in the meantime, here's some links I found before my cruise. I think that some of the info on here pertaining to Rome should be posted there also. Nice to have such a wealth of information. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=147961 Mary

Tagoladad Posted March 11, 2006 #20 Share Posted March 11, 2006 We will be in Barcelona for three days before we board the NCL Jewel on 7/16/06 and I can't tell you how appreciative we are for all of this information. Although the trip last just ten days, my wife and I have had several months of fun, just discussing, planning and fantsizing about the trip. We have taken 3 other cruises and have "done" Disneyworld and have left extensive trip reports on the approriate websites. I have also left my email address on a few websites so that others could contact me if they had any questions (which they have). I can't wait to do the same for our trip to Europe. The info that is on these boards (and the web in general) is outstanding. I just want to give a shout out (OK, my teenagers always say that) to everyine that has contributed to this incredible board and promise that I will keep it going with tips and advice. Thanks to All. elin Posted March 11, 2006 #21 Share Posted March 11, 2006 Great post, this should be a sticky at the top, with a note to go here first before you post a question. Here are my tips: You can book tickets for both the Uffizi and the Accademia either by phone: 011-30-055-294-883 or online: http://www.weekendafirenze.com/virtualuffizi/ordering.htm . They will charge you a service charge, but trust me, it's worth it when you see the line-up to get in! To book the Last Supper (in Milan) call: 011-39-02-8942-1146 It is so much easier to book these before you go and then you can breeze right by all the lines. Enjoy! vetralla Posted March 12, 2006 #24 Share Posted March 12, 2006 May I make the contribution of my website to the list ? ***** contains travel and history articles-mostly about Rome & the area near Civitavecchia port, which is still so mysterious to most Americans. With hopes that readers will gain insight into the country where I've enjoyed living for the past 40 years. Your feedback is appreciated.
