LIVE from Regal Princess, sailing November 3rd!

The crew for the most part seemed to be enjoying themselves. A few did complain that on this ship they felt overworked and having to constantly be on the run to get things done but most seemed to enjoy working on Regal.

The high visibility of the cruise director and the officers was very much appreciated. And they are all very sociable. And I also appreciated that the Captain took time to call me and thank me for the invite to the meet and mingle I arranged on the 7 night sailing and apologized that he could not make it.

Martyn Moss was an excellent CD. I would enjoy having him on a ship.

There are some negatives my friends...

The lack of a mid-ship staircase past deck 7 is a glaring design oops. Hopefully this will be addressed when these ships go into drydock.

Main pool area is way too small for a ship of this size. It also didn't help that there were a lot of chair hogs. Some people told me in the Retreat area that people had put their towels on chairs at 6 am and 4 hours later still hadn't come back. Why do people need to keep acting this way? It's downright embarrassing. Also it didn't seem like anyone working in the pool areas would remove items that these people put on the chairs.

Casino also seems very small for a ship of this size but that's just me.

The Terrace pool at the aft of the ship is way too small. It's a nice thought to add one but on Emerald class it is WAY bigger. Plus this is also the smoking area so not a great place to relax if you're a non smoker

A day pass to try out the Enclave in the spa would be nice instead of making people purchase a full week pass. With ports of call mixed I just don't see how it's worth the price

You have written a wonderful review! I miss the ship already. I do wish I would have purchased internet access on the ship so I could have followed you and known what to try because I feel like I missed quite a bit. I didn't see Martyn at all, except on the last day at the Voice, and he was great! Do you happen to have any photos from the shows in Princess live?

Thank you for taking all the time to write this review, it is so much fun to read it and reflect back on the wonderful trip.

There are photos from Princess Live, but they are scattered throughout the review

So what grade do I give Regal? An A minus. I really enjoyed the ship and would sail on her again but next time a different itinerary.

So with that LIVE from Regal Princess has concluded. I hope everyone enjoyed it, I certainly enjoyed doing a live again.

Until next time... ;)

Thank you for your wonderful review. We've been on Royal and Regal and will be traveling on Regal twice in 2016. Even with the negatives the pluses outweigh them. The thing I miss on Regal/Royal is Explorers as I thing it has a nicer feel to it than Princess Live and I like the seating with tables where you can put a drink or actually have something to write on when you play trivia. Certainly not a deal breaker for us just a preference.

Great review, Chris.

Thanks for letting travel with virtually and free of charge. I looked this morning and the cruise did not appear in MY cruise history...I suppose that will happen later this week...:eek::)

Again, great job!

Hi Chris! After a very long day of travel yesterday, we have a cool and rainy day here in Indiana, perfect for curling up and reading through your review and reliving our cruise. Thanks so much for all the time and effort you put into being our roll call coordinator - you did an excellent job and we all benefited from your efforts!

I agree with every one of your negatives. I was appalled at the people who put towels on all the lounge chairs by 7 am and by noon hadn't ever returned. They have to address this issue. I'm an early bird and went up twice by 7 am and couldn't believe it. Took pics to time stamp it and 5 hours later many remained empty. Casino is way too small and you can't get in or out of rows. Other than the things Chris mentioned, she is a stunning ship.

Thanks for the Live review. My husband and I will be on the Regal in January and now I can't wait. Your pictures were beautiful and opinions seemed to be honest. I'm sure I will re-read mosy of your review and take notes on the hits and misses. Thank you again for a great review.

Chris, Darlene and I made it back home last night around 5:00 PM. It's been a busy day around the house, so I will begin shortly to catch up on your live blog of the beautiful Regal Princess. First off, I just want to say it was a pleasure to finally meet up with you on this cruise. Darlene and I really appreciated all the hard work you put into the planned activities for our roll call on this cruise. We had one great time on the beach outing in St Martin you arranged for our group. The slot pull was also a blast along with some good dinners at the Crab Shack and the Crown Grill. Hanging out at the Fat Turtle in St Thomas was also a fun afternoon. The whole cruise was fantastic, great people on the roll call! I'm hoping we will be cruising again down the road. Your suggestion of 2017 is a must. I hope to start down loading my pictures tonight from the cruise. I should be posting them on the roll call shortly, so stay tuned. Again thanks for making this a fun cruise.

Cheers - Ken & Darlene

That's disappointing. On our last cruise, with Carnival, they were putting stickers on any towels left on unattended chairs. You had 30 minutes to return and if you didn't they'd take your stuff and store it at the beach towel pickup area. They didn't mess around as we saw 3 or 4 unhappy people come back to their chair after an hour only to find someone else in the chair and their stuff gone. That seems perfectly fair to me.

And as others have said, I really appreciate your very thorough and entertaining review. i know that's a lot of work and you did a great job and a great service to future passengers, like me! Thanks amigo!
