Regatta - OS or VS?

We're going to an Oceania event tomorrow and are thinking of booking an Alaskan cruise in June 16. Any advice as to pros and cons with OS vs VS? Also, is there a preferred deck?

The primary difference is the view. In a Vista Suite you are at the front of the ship, so you will see where you are going, whereas the Owners Suites are aft, so you will see where you have been.

Those locations on the ship also place the Deck 6 Vista Suites just over the main lounge, and all of the Vista Suites closer to the noises of berthing and anchoring the ship.

By the same token, the Owners Suites, being hard aft, are more prone to engine vibration when the ship is underway, and smut from the smokestack on their verandas (fairly rare, but it does happen).

As a general rule, because of the pyramid-like design of the ships superstructure, the large Suites decrease in size by just a titch as you go higher in the ship; similarly, the views of Alaska will seem more impressive from a higher vantage point, so everything is a compromise. :o

For us no question OS after first trying VS, don't like the area of the ship in front of balcony with no direct view of water, noise on deck 6 from lounge below and horrible movement during even most mild of storms.

OS has the incredible wake views as well as all other land views. Cabins are larger and by far get the best service, in our opinion. Grab an O suite on decks 6-7 if you can get one.

We would vote for OS. A few times we requested to have dinner setup on the balcony. We would speak to the butler about it in the morning and when we returned from port everything would be ready. Then, as the ship was leaving port, we would have dinner served and we could eat while departing out of port. Our nieces were on the cruise and wanted to do this every night lol
