EmpressofPurple Posted November 14, 2015 Author #126 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Thank you Denise. We will be on Liberty in 2 weeks and you provided very useful information for all. Thank you for your kind words. I wondered whether my blog-style writing would be valuable for anything other than enjoying a vicarious cruise (one of my favorite reasons to read CC reviews!) through a wordy description and relatively unusual perspective... between this being a one-off itinerary, and one of the last cruises before the planned drydock changes, so many things will be different for upcoming Galveston cruisers. For those following along on the story, my left foot/ankle seem to have nearly completely recovered, mysteriously, on the last day of the cruise. Perhaps avoiding the stairs for the last 10 days, minimizing and slowing my walking speed down a lot helped. So strange! But I'm really happy to be moving around comfortably for the always uncomfortable airport transfers and flights... and especially now for three days of fun at Sea World, Aquatica and Discovery Cove with my daughter!! Soon to come... PHOTOS!!! Stay tuned. I'll post what I have... many of my wonderful crew also took photos of our gang at various activities, events and excursions, and as those arrive via email I'll add them to the review at the end. Wow, we had fun. Thanks again for following along. I truly love reading long, descriptive reviews by others where they share their interests, critiques, raves and complaints about activities that I like myself... or would never (or have never yet) tried! For instance, I'm not someone who loves the rowdy (and, to me, cheesy) game shows such as the belly flop, sexiest man competition, etc. ... but I love that they're available for people who enjoy them, and I have gazed at them from the comfort of the VCL, and sometimes poolside if I'm out of the splash zone.:) (And as mentioned before, I have fiercely competed in the Quest on more than one occasion, especially when traveling with some of my crazy cruising friends.) I know others have never set foot in the gym, walked on the track, gone snorkeling, attended a cabin crawl or slot pull, made friends with strangers at dinner, appreciated exceptional classical guitar playing, sat in the front row of the theatre to cheer and give energy to these hard working young performers who are singing and acting and dancing in front of an audience that wanders in and out, stupefied by too much good food and drink, nodding out, etc. -- and I hope they enjoy reading my descriptions of these events, expanding their view of what's available to them on a cruise. Well, I'm off to an early morning owner's presentation at my timeshare (we're here on a marketing promotion weekend) while my daughter sleeps in... watching the tragic news from Paris as I type this up... hopefully tonight after a full day at Aquatica I'll have some time to upload some photos. In the meantime, here's a quick tease: In port in St. Thomas: On the way into St. John with my pals: St. Martin selfie (yeah, I'm not very good at these): We were in port with the beautiful Jewel of the Seas: The amazing Voytek in action (many more photos to come): Gotta run!! Right now relaxing on the beach at the Aquatica wave pool! :-) Sent from my SM-G900P using Forums mobile app

EmpressofPurple Posted November 17, 2015 Author #136 Share Posted November 17, 2015 Being back to work today after a whirlwind three-day trip to Orlando with my daughter right after the cruise... Up to my neck catching up on work (despite handling a few issues while traveling)... Still have three bags to unpack and home stuff to tend to as well... Hoping to upload photos and conclude review by this weekend... Will be a great chance to relive this wonderful cruise and reconnect with the great friends I made onboard. Thanks you for your patience! :-) Sent from my SM-G900P using Forums mobile app

EmpressofPurple Posted November 20, 2015 Author #145 Share Posted November 20, 2015 All right, I can see it... can you? It's HUGE, but it's there. Let me know, if it's not working I'll try to upload to another photo sharing site before I transfer to CC. I want to upload photos more or less in order of the Live From, so you can follow along visually, having followed along verbally for the past two weeks. EmpressofPurple Posted November 20, 2015 Author #146 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Debra and I dropped off our bags and walked back to see the Teardrop Memorial in person... first time I had taken pictures with the ship in the background, rather than from the ship! Nice shot with the flag, too. Liberty of the Seas in Port Liberty for the last time: The Verrazano Narrows Bridge, which we will pass under in a few hours... right now, 67 of my fellow Galloway NYC Marathon and Half-Marathon Running Club members are crossing over that bridge in the NYC Marathon!! Nice pic of the Manhattan skyline when the sun came out from behind the clouds for a few minutes (though not as nice as my friend Ken's shot where the Statue of Liberty was lit up as if by a giant spotlight! Post it, Ken!) Sailaway party pics with my soon-to-be best friends:
