A day in miami

Not wishing to take a chance on flight delays we are now having an extra whole day in Miami prior to cruise. Would be interested in suggestions of best way to spend that day. Thanks in advance

Have Cuban for lunch or dinner! Visit the beach, people watch in South Beach. Catch a game or show?

Hop On Hop Off buses (board them in front of Bayside). I think there are 2 companies, Big Bus Tours and City Sightseeing Tours.

 

Spend the day at South Beach.

 

Visit Vizcaya.

 

Check out the schedules for the Miami Heat, as well as performances at the Adrienne Arsht Center, Guzman Center, or Fillmore Jackie Gleason.

How are the beaches in South Beach? What is the best way to get around? Park, walk, buses?

Head to the Luumus Park area in South Beach. Great popular strip of beach. Everything in walking distance including lots of shopping,restaurants,beach activities, bike and Segway rentals etc. You can do the hop on /off bus to see the whole area and get off there to spend time before heading back.

Go tour Vizcaya then have a late lunch at The Rusty Pelican.

 

That evening, hop a cab to South Beach and people watch.

 

Have dinner outside at Havana 1957 in Espanola Way.
