I read somewhere that you can call the DINE line as early as embarkation day to secure your reservations--- is that true? We'll be on a British Isles cruise --- is the Crab Shack still offered on the European cruises?

I am new to Princess. What is this Crab Shack? I DO love crab!!!!!

It's a specialty (up charge) dining option they offer once or twice during a cruise, it takes place in a special part of horizon court. They have seafood options like Alaskan king crab legs, shrimp boil, stuff like that. We did it on Regal and it was a mountain of food that was quite good. The clam chowder was outstanding. I recommend trying it. You can call the dine line day one and find out when it will be to book it ahead. They also had fondue night in the same fashion, not sure if that's been discontinued or not as I never hear anyone mention it here on cc.

We did the Crab Shack last November on our 5 day aboard Emerald Princess out of Houston, it was offered 2 nights in a row, first night we made reservations and it was only moderately busy (50-60% seating capacity), service was extremely slow, nearly an hour to get our food. At best I rated the seafood as ok, lots of it, but seasoning was lacking, however we do live in south Louisiana and can get better seafood within walking distance of our house. The second night they were so slow they were begging people to walk in making announcements in the evening on the PA system.

Thanks!

What price range is it? I had gastric sleeve this summer, so I cannot eat much at all, so paying extra is something I do with great caution. But, if the price is reasonable and since it involves crab, I am open to it!
