The Natural Bridge area was beautiful.

Interesting landscapes next to the ocean.
Yes there were cigars at the duty free store. You could even watch them roll them.

Enjoying your review! I'm cruising next month and really enjoyed your excursion review in Grand Turk. We're getting outside the port area too and it's nice to see what the rest of the island looks like.

On another note, how was your experience flying AA out of CRW? We're flying out of Charleston too, only to Fort Lauderdale. I haven't flown AA yet and keep hearing negative things. I'm a Delta girl at heart so I'm iffy. But, if AA will get me to my cruise and back, then I can't really complain!

Never had an issue with AA, helps when the person you are travelling with is Platinum with AA. He has flown them 75 times this year, and with the exceptions of two trips uses them exclusively. Last time we flew Delta was 2013 to a cruise in Tampa. (Just my opinion, the USAirways crews/personnel are slightly friendlier) But we did get First Class upgrades from Miami to Charlotte on our return.

We stopped at Alto Vista Chapel, small little church and again nice views.

California Lighthouse was undergoing renovations. Again what spectacular views from up here.

After the lighthouse, we drove back by all of the resorts and ended up back at the ship. Since we were going to be here until 10, we decided to do some looking around and eat off the ship. We were told many of the store would only stay open until 630-700pm, even though the ship was in port until 10.

We did walk down far enough and over a bridge to find the I love Aruba sign.

Another thing that I like on cruises are the sunsets, in this case on land in Aruba.
I'm glad we booked the dune buggy excursion in La Romana especially since it sounds like there isn't much to do near the port.

Great sunset pic!
La Romana is a port you need an excursion or stay on the ship.

Did you feel unsafe in La Romana? We are doing the Carnival Anani beach tour

Not at all at Altos de Chavon, the vendors that were waiting to ambush us as we boarded the riverboat were a little pushy. Took several no's to get them to leave us alone and get back on the bus.

I'm doing this cruise in March. Thanks for giving me ideas for tours.

Was the open safari comfortable? Were there enough breezes to keep cool? I read where many of the closed buses had air conditioning that didn't work and I'd hate to have that. I have to decide which one to book. Thanks!

There was a small straw type market that stayed open as well as shops in the cruise terminal in Aruba. So if Aruba instead of Curacao is your late stop there will be places open to buy all your Aruba goodies.

I will end Aruba with this little creature:

Curacao morning would turn out to be towel animal take over day.

Every chair at the pool had an animal on it.

I was surprised but no one bothered them for the longest time, allowing everyone to enjoy them and get pictures.

Welcome to Curacao.

Our excursion today is the Curacao Coastal Country Drive. Glad we did it, but next time I will do a more traditional Island tour that makes more stops.
